How to get or order an MP? Where can I find them? And what they need from me if I order?

Thanks

MP stands for Member of parliament. It is not something that you get or order. it is a person who represents a certain district in your province, like a local representative. to find the sponsor's mp, simply google "how to locate my mp in (insert province name)". Most MPs will only get involved with your case if you are well beyond the posted processing time for approval. Most people report MPs not being too helpful, while others say their MP was great. It's really a c**pshoot. CIC legally has to respond to an MPs request within a few days, so that is why people ask them to inquire about application delays.

Are you asking about the GSCM notes? those are electronic case notes that can be ordered to get an idea of how the processing is going for your file.

here's a video that explains how to do it:

Thanks for the info. So what does MP do?

that is what an mp can do. they can call cic on your behalf and find out why your file is taking longer than normal processing times...

Haha yeah, I was hoping my local MP would be able to help, I'm guessing they do ask, but don't push or really pursue further once they get a generic answer.

Will probably go to the Scarborough office again in September to check on the status. Last time we asked them in June and they said we should hear by the end of July, but still nothing as of now.

The local office for me is Scarborough

This is just not right, I have seen ppl who had landing interview long after you, something is wrong, you need to be ahead of this ..........

Ok. So IL just Google my MP then there is an instructions if I wanna contact them?

YES! when you find who your mp is, there will be contact information for them. you can email or call the office. remember, an mp is not obligated to help, nor will most help applicants until you are WELL BEYOND the posted processing time for your application category. considering you submmited your app in aug 2013 and the website states they are now processing july 2013 apps, my guess is your mp will tell you to just stay patient and call back once you are out of the posted processing time.

Just to clarify, the timeline for inland processing, includes the landing date and becoming PR. The timeline is from the time CIC received the application to the time the applicant officially lands as PR. DM is part of the process but not at the end of the line just yet.

Screech339

That's why I said "DM/PR Card. Coz after DM is just a matter of time for the local office to schedule landing. But he received DM 7 months ago, so they should have less than one month to land. Lately 2nd stage is not taking 8 months for most people we see here, clearly they need to pursue information on the case. Current time frame is 20 months (12+8)

I need a direct website for GSCM to.order a note or I don't know how to call it. Lol

Thnx

Have had Decision Made since January 8, 2014.

Have you changed addresses since you started your applications?
Some people have reported their landing letters getting sent to old addresses even after they notified CIC of a change in address?

Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the timeline of the Inland application.

On the CIC website it says 12 month for the first stage and 8 months for next stage.
But I saw most of the August applicants already got their PRs. It seems that after the first stage it is hardly taking any time to get the PR.

Please let me know if it is correct or not.

I applied for my wife in Dec 2013. We sent the application for Open Work Permit at the same time.

Thanks in Advance !!

Hi Gaur,
I am surprised that you say that ! Could you tell where you saw MOST of August applicants that got their PRs?
Are you sure about what you saw? I am August applicant and like most of my August waiting bodies , we have no news so far. Since February, CIC is working on July applications.
