There is no requirement to switch to inland processing. An outland applicant can be anywhere including inside Canada. An inland applicant must be in Canada.meandmyson said:1. He is planning to travel to Canada in september - If he does so, should or can we change from outland to Inland? What you would suggest?
The only "risk" for outland is that an interview will be done at the outland visa office. The other issue (but not a risk) is that the applicant must maintain legal status to stay in Canada - there is no implied status while a PR application is pending, though visa exempt applicants are routinely granted permission to stay in Canada during processing.meandmyson said:2. We are worried that if we convert it - it will take tooooo long for the inland process to happen, visa to come through Inland.
An inland applicant can apply for an open work permit and rely upon implied status. But since his PR application is already underway, it's also possible he will have landed by the time March rolls around (or if he's close he can apply for a renewal of the closed work permit right at the deadline and continue working under implied status. If he lands before they get to his work permit application, he even gets the work permit fee refunded).meandmyson said:3. Let's say if he comes to Canada during this process of outland, and if we go for an appeal for Inland - can he apply for an open work permit here in Canada (keeping in mind that his current work permit from his current compnay will expire in March) .
Yes. In that case the applicant includes an open work permit application WITH the inland PR applicationmeandmyson said:4. Need a suggestion from anybody that if he can apply for a open work permit (once his current work permit given from his company expires) while he is in Canada to remain in Canada until he gets visa thorugh inland.
Once AIP is granted, he is eligible for an open work permit. But it doesn't happen automatically and certainly not just when he enters the country.meandmyson said:One my husband enters, can he get a open work permit to live here with me in the country??? - Pleaseeeeereply.
