You're right, if you sent an OWP with your application, she's going to have implied status when the current status run out. You're all good then!nismopinoy said:Thank you for the reply. Yes we submitted a OWP application together with the sponsorship. So we don't need to apply for extension then because of the implied status?
Yeah, it really is frustrating at how contradicting some answers are that we get from the different representatives when we try to contact CIC. I have to try to remember that it's not their fault, they're just the messenger! It would help if their messengers knew what they were talking about though, lol.ACS said:So since they didn't update the website, I have finally reached the 11 months that they have listed as the processing time. Today is exactly 11 months since our Application was received. I called in to CIC and was told they do not measure it by the months of processing time listed, it's by the date – in this case July 22. So we cannot yet have an email sent to CPC-M regarding our case.
I also asked her to check if my husband's medical is marked as expired or not, since we did the original in June 2013. She said the notes aren't clear, and she isn't sure. Apparently there is some notation about September, but she wasn't sure what it meant. I asked if we should just get another one done, and she said no, it's best to wait until we hear from them. I asked if that wouldn't actually slow the process down, and she said no.
I asked her if there had been much activity on our file, and she said no. There really hasn't been much done on our file besides a few notes. Funny, because another CIC rep a few months ago told me yes, there was plenty of activity and we should hear something soon. The lady I spoke to a few weeks ago backed up what this one said, and advised there was nothing really done on our file yet.........*sigh*
Gotta love the consistency!
Will THIS be the week all the AIPs & DMs start rolling in?!??? I sure hope so!!!
That's encouraging. Yata520, I think this means you can start calling today. They've passed your AOR date, so they can send an email. Looks like you may have to phone several times to get a helpful agent though.PRsoon said:The official processing time has been updated. At least some small movement.
11 months
(initial assessment)
Working on applications received on July 25, 2013
I meant no offense. Any movement is encouraging right now. It will be 12 months for us on the 26th. We went through the strike where there was NO movement for months and we watched the processing time go up and up and up with no end in sight. Believe me, I know how you feel. Also, we're only one day away but that could just as easily mean we're three months away if they decide to stop processing. The fact that they haven't increased the processing date IS encouraging to me because that may mean they're getting ready to increase their speed.beholder69 said:This remains hardly encouraging for us who sent our applications towards the end of the year. 3 days in 2 weeks means absolutely nothing for us since it would take us *many* months behind schedule

I'm just lucky I have been able to work through the whole process.
So now my current work permit is due to expire this September I already got AIP back in Feb 2014 & since this has been a long drawn out process & me regretting not having applied outland everyday I need to apply for a OWP cause I'm not sure when I will hear back about DM. I'm just about to make a call to CIC as soon as I post this.
My other questions are How long will it take to get a OWP from application to receiving it ? If I get DM & a landing date while I'm waiting for the OWP will i get refunded ?
Thanks LindenLinden said:Try this link

If you apply for OWP online the current processing time is 19 days.
Not sure about refund if you get DM sooner.
Oh, no offense taken, didn't mean it like that. I'm glad for everyone who gets close or receives AIP and/or DM. I'm just saying that the more the pace remains negative (as in processing less than 7 days' worth of applications per week), the processing time will keep getting longer and longer, which is quite frustratingruppcs said:I meant no offense. This process is/was hard on ALL of us involved. I am hoping that CIC gets going and you guys who applied after us do not have wait as long as we have. 12 months is too long.
