Well ur file should still be in Vegreville, so I dont think the backlog with stage 1 will affect you, considering that stage 1 is now being processed in missisauga! But as you might have noticed CIC loves to take their time and more! Keep in mind that the I.O's are probably on vacation one after the other! Patience is the key to this crazy system

Well, we are at like 5 months into Stage 2 here. That means, I suppose, that the DM should appear by early October. But I am wondering if they have this kind of backlog on Stage 1 if they will inevitably shift resources away from Stage 2 approvals to deal with that.

congrats!!!!! I can only imagine the way you feel!
I see your app was filed earlier than the date they are supposed to be currently working on? Or was it received on the 22nd or later? If not, makes me wonder if CIC is passing people ? I'm still looking for those people from late July to hear! That will really tell me if they are moving!

Congratulations! Hope that's the case. That means cic is working forward. Otherwise, cic is clearing the old apps.

So short of a miracle, based on the lack of AIPs & DMs this week, it seems the only change will probably be the processing time to 12 months.

We all have a pretty good idea every week based on the activity on the forum what changes (if any) we will see, but still even anticipating it, everytime I see an increase in the processing time, it brings that sharp feeling of disappointment and I have to hold back some tears at work. *sigh*

Not to mention that EVERY time they update it, it is a few days before I pass the processing time, so I can never actually call in and get them to email CPC-M. So frustrating.

I will cross my fingers anyways that they won’t increase it to 12 months, but I expect they will, and once again will be feeling that “punch in the stomach” feeling…..

Lets all be psitive here.maybe CIC has been processing some apps
but they are not on this forum, we will never know .

We received Decision Made yesterday (after filing our application nearly 20 months ago and nearly 9 months since AIP). We are very happy. It may have been a coincidence, or not, but once we got our MP engaged on our file, we received DM within 2 weeks. Something to consider for those whose file has exceeded the estimated time.

We are now awaiting contact from the Ottawa office for a landing appointment. Anyone have any experience on wait times between Decision Made and receiving a letter from Ottawa and scheduling of landing?

Migrain - sorry I can't help with the ETA on that...can't believe you had to wait so long for DM! Did you have any red flags, or any idea why yours took longer?? I bet you are soooo happy to finally receive your DM!!! Congrats again!!

No update yet.....if no update today, then I can call CIC on Monday to send an email to CPC-M......

No red flags. No interview required. All documents included in original application. Passport was set to expire but new passport sent 5 months before expiry but CIC requested copy 1 month later. Just very slow process. Thanks.
