Welcome to the family.

Grab a pillow, blanket, comfy couch, tv remote, laptop, 2400 pack of beer, a lot of headache pills, punching bag, and a time machine and you'll be good to go!

Well I was about to call CIC as our 6 months was up last week. I see I don't have to now as the wait is now 10 months. Yay, way to go CIC......move the goal posts on everyone just as they are getting excited!!!!!

Oh well maybe, just maybe I'll be in for a nice xmas pressie from CIC.........until then I guess it's enjoy whats left of the summer!

( Oh and I suppose it gives me more time to send in my OWP application....... )

Yup we are just a few days apart as we sent ours in on the 9th. It's so frustrating lol. I wanna go back to Denmark to see my family so bad.. But I guess that won't happen for a very, very long time. It would be the best Christmas pressie to get an OWP. But I'm rather worried we could prove our genuinely relationship with only so much for common law so lets hope for no such interview.

It makes you feel a lil trapped doesn't it? I'd like to visit my folks back in U.K. but can't risk it. As for common law, we're the same but by the time they even get to our application we'd have been common-law for two and a half years!

Just hope I don't fall sick in the meantime......no health insurance!

Oh that's good. We have lived together since December 2011 but at his moms house so all we could do was include a few letters sent to me and him to that address before moving into our own place. Yeah no kidding.. I have often thought about that too. I purchased a cheap insurance so in case something happens (again) since I chopped the tip of my index finger off (completely) and didn't have any insurance on me at that time.. Now that was hell.

I'm paying for private health insurance in the mean time, as it'd be pretty catastrophic if I had to be hospitalized because I slipped and broke my leg or something without one.

But what I find really frustrating is that I sent my resume out when I first arrived (and thought LMO's were easier to get) only to *still* get calls back from them, months later, checking in if I'm available yet. So I want to work, my family needs me to contribute, businesses want me to work for them... yet I can't.

I really don't see how this would be doable from within Canada for someone who doesn't have people willing to support them financially throughout pretty much a whole year.

OWP with INLAND PR

HELP PLEASE!

I am yet to submit our inland pr application (my husband is sponsoring me, hes a PR). anyway, i plan to file the OWP together with it, however theres a box for LMO No. in the form. I obviously dont hav eone since its an OPen Work Permit. WHat do I put in there? It cannot validate the form until i enetred something in there. I tried putting N/A or not applicable but still to no effect. PLs help! MY TRV is expiring on Nov 2013.

If you are getting sponsored by a spouse or common law partner he/she has to state that they are willing to support you. LMOs are very tough to get unfortunately.. You'd need magic almost. Lots of us don't have health insurance.. As I mentioned above I literally cut off my finger and had no health care. That was a fat fee I had to pay to get that fixed!

Try refilling everything again but don't even attempt the LMO box (don't click on it)? It worked for me when I was applying for my off-campus work permit.

One of the many things for which I'm thankful, that my husband makes enough to comfortably support both of us without me working. Otherwise, I would lose the love of my life, as even after I gain PR, I won't be able to work here for a while (language barrier - very French where we are posted).

While there is no specific income requirement for sponsors in the family class, in reality, one must earn enough to fully support his/her spouse indefinitely. If you're poor or living hand-to-mouth, better guard your heart around foreigners, I guess!
