I also got an email 2 mins later:

It doesn't look like DM tho :( means I probably need to submit my PCC?

Dear Bruneian

This refers to the Application for Permanent Residence you made under the Spouse or
Common-Law Partner in Canada Class.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements.
congratulations brunelan, this is soo exciting, finally there is some movement and I am really happy that it starts with your application.

I have a question in regards to Police records. As I understand, the requirement is that you obtain a police record from every country you have lived in for 6 months or longer since the age of 18, with the exception of Canada, correct? Now my question is, what if you have lived in Canada on a study visa for 18 months in Sept 2009 - March 2011 and then went back to your home country and returned to Canada in 2013, when you applied for the inland sponsorship? Should I have sent a police certificate for Canada too ? My husband was 20 at the time he first lived in Canada for school. Can anyone help?
From what I understand, they conduct their own search through RCMP so no need for canada. It's 6 months or longer continuously in countries other than canada since 18. In your case, because he left from 2011 to 2013 to his home country then he will need PCC from there. (And also he came here at 20.) Hope that helps!

Also guys I encourage you to talk to your MP!! (In my case it's his assistant but same help provided) they are so helpful. She is going to ask cic about my PCC (I believe they made a mistake asking for one) we all know it's so hard to get thru cic and we have to deal with call centre agents that give inconsistent answers, or unanswered emails. Your MP will get a reply in less than 5 business days!! And they have more ways of contacting cic.

Voice your concerns with the delay as well!

I don't think so, the thing is it doesn't matter when or how long you lived in Canada, they don't request the Canada Police Certificate because they going to do the screening for this one anyway. They have access to your records here, they don't have in other countries!!!

Hi guys, just thought I'll keep you posted, I emailed my MP today as my application is past the 10 month deadline now. I will hopefully hear back from them soon and let you know what they said. Hoping to see some movement today from CIC!

My wife has had AIP since February, everything was in but her medicals, which we sent in March. Still nothing! This is absurd that there is no movement on the decision... what is all this I read here about files transferred to Mississauga? Did they transfer files and by what criteria? Who found this out?

It was actually in an old news bulletin from CIC, and those that had their files transferred received a letter informing them. Since you received AIP in February, it would not have been one that was transferred to Mississauga. Here is the link to the news bulletin if you'd like to take a look:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2014/ob565.asp

It does say files were transferred after January 17th, but as all of us that have been waiting for AIP since the transfer, there is no way February AIPs came from Missaussaga. There was a complete standstill for about 4 months after the transfer...just be happy that you received your AIP before the really long delay in getting those out!
