Wife got citizenship test date but at school in US--valid reason to reschedule?

Your answer is appreciated, as it is well-reasoned. I would think that her ties to Canada appear strong, as I (her husband) am still here and she remains technically a resident of Ontario, having kept her license and asked for an absence for her OHIP.

Wife got citizenship test date but at school in US--valid reason to reschedule?

Well, that is true as far as it goes, but she also has a job at school she just started that requires her to do hours for that, as well. The question is whether the bureaucratic functionaries at IRCC accept this as a 'valid' reason (which I can find no definition of anywhere)....

Wife got citizenship test date but at school in US--valid reason to reschedule?

The IRCC just sent my wife her first notice for her citizenship test on Jan 24. However, she is away doing masters in Miami, FL, and it is very hard for her to get back this quickly. Is that a valid reason for her to reschedule? Does anyone have experience with a similar situation?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hey All, good news! My wife just received a letter informing that the processing of her Stage 2 is complete! They said that the Etobicoke office is going to contact us now... and that we should pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee of $490 soon. Does anyone here have any idea how long it...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

My wife and I are in the same boat. We are past 8 months on 2nd stage, and nothing in sight. We did the medical in March too--her PR application was being processed since February 6, after my sponsorship was approved. This is seriously threatening my marriage and I am depressed about it.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Well, we are at like 5 months into Stage 2 here. That means, I suppose, that the DM should appear by early October. But I am wondering if they have this kind of backlog on Stage 1 if they will inevitably shift resources away from Stage 2 approvals to deal with that.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Ughhh... here it is July 10 already... no movement on my wife's stage 2 approval that can be discerned. Her AIP (Stage 1) was done February, her meds were done and in by March... yet nothing. She is frustrated because she can't go visit her family or friends in the US until this is approved...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

My wife has had AIP since February, everything was in but her medicals, which we sent in March. Still nothing! This is absurd that there is no movement on the decision... what is all this I read here about files transferred to Mississauga? Did they transfer files and by what criteria? Who found...

Does the fact the medicals were done after the AIP mean that it goes back to the bottom of the queue?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Arrrgh... wife has been AIP since February, they have everything, meds were received there by late March, yet still nothing. Does anyone have any experience with how much longer it takes for decision made, or at least an interview if necessary, after the medicals are done?

Applied Inland for my American wife, travel back to USA in meantime?

Actually I did not require advice for this decision, but came to it from researching (including reading gazillions of posts on this forum). It is actually a fact that the inland application does NOT require the financial evaluation form to be completed whereas the outland does. Therefore, it can...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Wow that is for sure. I am now stressing over the decision of when to get my wife to do her medicals. We have everything in except for that. I don't want to delay anything, so I am not even sure if it is better to wait or do it ASAP. I am suspicious of opaque bureaucratic processes… and not...

Applied Inland for my American wife, travel back to USA in meantime?

For the simple reason that at the time of application I would not have been able to show the amount of income required to meet the mandatory minimum income on the financial evaluation, which is done for the Outland but not the Inland. Also, she does not do well with long distance, which for a...

Applied Inland for my American wife, travel back to USA in meantime?

Actually, not really, Ponga. She becomes very disgruntled at times and it does put strain on me and the marriage.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

It looks like at this pace it will be April when we get approved in principle...Should my wife complete and submit her medical exams before that time? We have submitted all other things, including her FBI report and her application for OWP. I am concerned that if we submit anything before asked...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hi hockeyfan, well she came to Canada as a visitor from US. To make sure she wasn't out of status, we did a temporary resident visa extension at some point.

Applied Inland for my American wife, travel back to USA in meantime?

This is becoming a hazard for my marriage… she gets very disenchanted not being able to take a short trip to visit, never mind the weather! :(

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hi all, congrats to those people getting approvals! I am a Canadian who married my American wife last year. We have an inland application that was in since June 11, 2013. She wants us to go to the USA for a short visit to go to a family function. Any thoughts on whether we can do this safely?
