After the 2nd stage and when they ask you and your common-law/wife to come with you to "Land" and to get PR status

What questions will they ask you?

We provided more than enough evidence in our application, I'm from the UK, lived together for 2 years in Canada even before submitting the application. There's no red Flags or anything.

But I am not sure what to expect...As some people are in and out within 10 minutes and others get asked a lot of questions...

It's already Wednesday the 16th and 4-day-long-weekend is coming up for government people (Friday and Monday off). They must be in festival mood already and I am guessing nothing will be processed this month... :-[ :-[

I agree with you, after tomorrow, next week they will have just 2 more days working for the last update in April, well let's hope until May 1. God bless everybody.

That's one possibility.

In our case, my wife (the applicant) received a phone call to verify email address just minutes before receiving AIP (i.e. stage 1). We're still awaiting DM (stage 2) nearly 17 months after filing a complete and paid application.

Don't give up hope. It's a lengthy (and stressful) process.

hey Migrain is your wife from St.Lucia? why is the second stage taking so long did you have any red flags ? I am from St.lucia got my AIP and OWP on jan 29 they requested another schedule a background declaration form which I sent the following day, its been almost 3 months and am still waiting for my DM.

PR app received March 1st 2012
Started processing PR app Oct 21st2013
Eligibility passed Oct 21st 2013
Security passed Oct 21st 2013
FBI cert request Oct 23rd 2013
FBI cert received Jan 6th 2014
Criminality background check passed march 25th 2014
Medicals redo requested March 25th 2014
Ecase updated on April 15th. Medical results have been received April 11 2014
But I was told by cic agent received April 11.
I was also told that medicals are the only oustanding requirement for hubbys file.

Does this mean we are done? Our file still says in process.
What happens next our 8 month timeline for pr is June 21st2014.
Plz advise.

hey @ Rifat! GREAT! you got your medicals!! isn't it better when you dont have to chase your lawyer for info?
well... now that they have received your hubby's medicals you have to wait to get DM. (for me, was exactly 50 days between medicals and DM) but DM is the end of stage 2 means it can take up to 8 months (your timeline says that you have until June to get DM. and after you get DM, you have to wait for landing letter, which can take a while more. (im still waiting for my landing letter and supposely Montreal is one of the fastest!) the time fram between DM and Landing letter depends on your office...Vancouver for example, is known for being one of the slowest ones...

Hi folks-g;

Yes my wife is from St. Lucia (Castries/Gros Islet). She's been in Canada since 2011 under a study permit.

Complete application (all forms, medicals, PCC, etc. and full payment) was sent in late Nov. 2012. It took 11 months for AIP. No flags were raised (remember that CIC was on strike for a good chunk of 2013). No interviews required. We've been waiting nearly 6 months for DM (total process to date - nearly 17 months).

I received GCMS notes last month and recently contacted CIC. Everything in order. Awaiting criminality and security checks. I expect once these pass (as anticipated), we will require meds to be re-done since they are 18 months old.

I'm wondering that when it comes to the criminality and security checks, if CIC goes back to applicable visa office for further details. If so, the VO for St. Lucia is Port of Spain which is an extremely busy and slow office.

It's a long process.

With the proposed changes to the Immigration Act ( and my wife being a student) the sooner we receive DM the better.

nrajani, nothing yet. It's taking forever and unfortunately the processing times went back to 50+ days last week. Have you tried logging in on ECAS? If you see a separate box for PR card then the card will arrive soon.

Hi Guri no such thing on our ECAS .. just few weeks ago they are 37 days.. and now went to 50+.. I wish they would stop confusing us like this.
