Hi Everyone,

After landing interview, do you need your PR card to cross the us border by car.

Please adivse.

Thank you,
If you are not a Canadian or US citizen, I think you need to obtain a US visa. and wait for the PR card as well.

When you get the AIP and OWP e-mail or letter, what is the next process? Do you go in for an interview? And when do you pay for the PR process?

I believe if you didn't pay the full fee you get your AIP then the AIP email CIC sent you will say to pay the rest of the fee cause I think cic won't give you DM till you have paid the full fee & then when you have your landing interview you have to show the officer the receipt of the full fee.

No we got DM even though we didn't pay our second part, it asked us to pay before coming to landing interview.

Thank you,

What is DM (landing interview)? Is this the interview to get approved for the sponsorship, which is the 1st step of PR?
DM usually happens before your landing interview (for Inland applicants).

The sponsor is approved first= AIP

Then the applicant is approved (and relationship is determined to be real) = DM*

Then, the landing interview where you are asked a few questions [typically] and then given your COPR

Then...you wait for your PR card to arrive in the mail

Then...you are officially done!!

(*Sometimes a DM is a negative decision made, but for Inland applicants that have already received AIP, it's not too common).

Hey guys ?? my eCAS changed again, from 2012 to 2013.. The agent I spoke on Wednesday said he was going to send a message to CIC about my case and about why my status said 2012 instead of 2013!

It changed today and hopefully that means that they started to work on my file!!! HOPEFULLY!

hmm I guess Harmin did not apply with an official letter thats why it took so long?
So did you have to wait for after AIP to receive the official letter?
Or do they send it to you along the way of your waiting time?
how long have you been waiting to receive your COC since applying for it?
lol i think SPF is the only place that people have been facing troubles getting the clearances..
oh haha so they grilled you on why you're leaving SG?
You r right ....But when CIC ask u provide them COC from Singapore then i don't think so u can get with in that time ..because u have to send registered mail and its took almost 12 days or plus to delivered to them and if u took fedEx then 5 to 6 days ...10 days to process ur COC if every thing fine and u provide them all necessary documents...so if every thing goes fine then u will get with in 30 days.but if something went wrong then its gonna take more than 2 months ...that's what happen with me and i send them documents twice .....so choice is urs guys ..GOOD LUCK TO U ALL

Once you get the DM, how long it takes until you receive a letter from the local CIC for the landing interview ?

No idea, but it should be within a couple of weeks??

The location of your landing interview can really affect (or is it effect??) you, since some offices seem to have much longer waits than others.
Hopefully...you're not in Vancouver.

From what others have reported, the Vancouver office can be quite slow. Some have waited more than 3 months for their landing interviews.
No idea what the cause was/is, but it seems to be one of the slowest.

Your actual mileage may vary, of course. ;)

Hi Harmin,

I gave up on that. I don't think it's a big deal for now.
However, if the time comes for me to get the AIP and I don't hear anything, I will start to call the CIC office.

Thanks for all the help and advice!!
