The current wait time is 6 months for step 1 according to the CIC website.
Is that 6 months from the day it arrives at the office or 6 months from receiving an AOR? Does anyone know?
I believe it is 6 months from the day it arrives .

Wolanila, have you managed to create a spreadsheet yet. I know how to build them I just don't know how to do the links. If you want to PM me and let me know how to do what I don't know I would be happy to help

I did however create a second copy of every document I printed just in case I have to resubmit anything at any stage.
This is vital. CIC loses things. Having a complete copy is essential.

I still have complete copies of the spousal application - spiral bound, with tabs, all done up at Kinko's. The copies cost me something like $60 each, but it was worth it to have them in a convenient form (and I used two of the copies...)

Hello everyone. We just mailed of our application yesterday. I am feeling very nervous suddenly about whether or not we filled in everything correctly, mailed in the correct forms, have all the required documents, ect. We followed the instruction guide and the the check list, but I still get that nervous feeling especially after reading others posts about sending in the wrong form, forgetting information, and reading that if you dont fill it in correctly that they may send the application back to you. I hope everything will work out nicely. Wish me luck!!!!!
Hi Lalala,

Which address did you send to for the inland process? I am debating between the one in the instructions and the one on the document checklist. :(

We used the one in the guide and it arrived just fine. The address in the guide makes reference to permanent Residence application and also has the street address on it. They both have the same postal code and reference to Case Processing Center so I think it would arrive either way but when sending something through courier its always a good idea to give more address information then less. When we couriered our package through UPS they already knew the address and entered the exact address that is in the guide with out asking me for any more information, I told them it was an inland permanent resident application and they new where to send it right away. Quite good service and it arrived on time. I think in the check list they just want to make sure you have case processing center and the right postal code in your address

Hi Wolanila, thanks for doing the excel timeline thats awesome! I just wanted to say that someone in Vegreville signed off that my application arrived there on January 22nd, and I did not receive me AOR on the 22nd. It looks like on the spreadsheet that I got my AOR on the 22nd...unless I'm reading it wrong.

Yeah your right. It makes more sense to call it something like Application Received doesn't it. Ill change it a bit later thanks for the head up! :)

Meh kinda nit-picky, not that big of a deal, but if you get around to it that's good as well!

I think inland applicants have been getting their AOR's in around 3-3.5 months, and then AIP another 3 months after that.
