Guys I did my medicals on Monday, and I'm sure the X-ray are for TB .and on the lab they took 2 samples of blood and 1 of urine . I asked the nurse about why 2 samples , and she told me that one is for HIV ,the other for Syphilis ,she didn't say anything about why the urine test ,but I'm guessing it is to find any kind of doping in your system , not sure.
They do not test for illicit drugs. The tests are strictly for health. If you have piercings or tattoos they will also do tests for Hepatitis. Urinalysis is useful for looking at kidney and liver function.

The big hot buttons for CIC seem to be kidney disease, HIV, hepatitis, syphilis and TB.

I sent my application back in July 2013 without medical, and think i should do it now before they request. Could someone tell me where can i get lowest cost medical done in Toronto? So far, lowest i found in downtown is $350...
Thats crazy!!!
I did mine at North York, Dr Elizabeth Chiu for $185..
I read someone mentioned $160 somewhere downtown..
Im sure you can find cheaper than 350 downtown if you call the panel physicians to ask around..$350 is wayyyy overpriced for Toronto!

Aren't they the best, in my case they messed up my medicals, that wouldn't be much of a deal but financially, they lost 2 important documents from my wife that prevented her from being approved as sponsor already, thus preventing my AIP and OWP as well, I am so mad since Monday I could grab a flamethrower and make a little trip to Vegreville...
I know man, that absolutely sucks! But we better keep positive and not talk to much about vacation trips like those. Remember we're being put into examinations of every kind. So let's play the game at least for the moment!

Are you sure the postal service isn't the one that lost your documents?

I just made sure today that mine were actually received in july 2013, I even got the name of the guy that signed at the embassy. It's always worth it to pay a few extra bucks just to make sure they got it and know when and who...

Good luck and keep it up man! I think it's worth it.

Did you send the application with tracking? If you did and you show it being delivered then I wouldn't get too flustered yet. If you did not send your application with tracking then you will have to wait and see what happens from here. Not everyone gets an AOR.

You have a long way to go yet and if you included an OWP then your husband COULD continue to work on implied status. This does all presuppose that he is not currently using an IEC or PWGP. Those are not extendable and do not qualify under implied status with a sponsorship in the family class section of immigration.

There are many many threads here and some folks on this board even that are doing just that, however their outcome still remains to be see if they will be caught and denied or manage to 'sneak' by. It is up to you what kind of a risk you are willing to take.

Good luck and try to be patient. It is a long process and sometimes nerve racking and quite slow, but so worth it in the end to be with the love of your life!
Thanks for your support!
I call them again a bit ago I jsut couldn't wait (its past history with CIC-they lost my pr applicationa s a dependant child for 6 moths and it took longer for me to get back to canada) so now im very hesitant about it.

So i talked to them and she actually started and enquiry about my application. At least something is being done I cannot go through this process aof them losing my very important info again. She said give it 2 weeks and ill get an email about the request. I will elt you all know.

I believe this is DM, yes? :)

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law
partner in Canada class.

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The
Canada Immigration Centre in Ottawa will contact you concerning your permanent resident
status.

Please note: At the time of your appointment, you and your family members, if any, will
be required to present the original identification document(s) to the Canada Immigration
Centre. A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be
made at that time. If permanent residence is granted, the name that will appear on the
confirmation of permanent resident document is your name as it appears on your
passport or identity documents.

When they say 'the original identification document(s)' I assume they're referring to my passport? Do I need to bring anything else along (other, of course, than paperwork CIC has already sent me such as the OWP, etc)?

Basically, what comes next?
