For people who got their DM e-mail within January, did you have your interviews scheduled yet? How long did it take you for the letter to arrive?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hey folks, nice to see so many getting their papers after long delays. Sorry to ask again, I think I already mentioned this - does anyone know through experience how long it takes from receiving the e-mail about DM until the date the actual interview is scheduled?

Does anyone know how long after the DM e-mail the interview is usually scheduled for?

I believe this is DM, yes? :) This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in Ottawa will contact you...

It took about a week for me, and that was including January 1st and the holidays' heavy postal traffic.

As far as I know even stage 1 approval and an OWP doesn't change the situation at the border. I called CIC the other day about this, shortly after receiving my AIP, and the lady over the phone said she 'wouldn't recommend" me leaving unless I had no other choice.

A quick question for those with experience from Ontario. With my new OWP I easily got a social insurance number and OHIP - but for the latter they had to date it three months after the OWP was given to me, although I've of course been in Canada for a full year already. Is that how it's done? I...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Hey folks, My work permit arrived today, which is nice. It's valid until the 31/8/2015. One question... does anyone know if that's what I need to get a social insurance number in Canada? Is it another document that's still pending? Since I'll need a bank account, health insurance etc.

Oh, I thought that was AoR. From the site: We received your application to sponsor <X> on February 11, 2013. We started processing your application on February 26, 2013. And yes, we sent in medicals and police certificates with the original application.

Err, 2013, sorry. :) A few minutes after my wife (and sponsor) got the e-mail about her being accepted as my sponsor I got my own e-mail about the OWP being accepted. So that's good. I was kinda hoping for everything coming in at once so I could visit home but at least I'll be able to get...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Weird, we thought CIC was closed for the holidays (plus my application was originally received on February 11 2012). Then a few minutes ago my wife received an e-mail that started like this: "This refers to the Application to sponsor a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class...

I do come from a visa-exempt country (Greece). I just spoke with an immigration representative and our MP's office. They both said that, essentially, all we can do is show proof that we have an application in process (all we got though are the receipts of paying the fees and, I suppose, a...

I'll get a letter from the local MP from here and a notarized translated death certificate from there. It's obviously an important reason to be away. Surely things like this happen and people have to leave. I don't know what else to possibly do to better the chances of nothing bad happening with...

My mother passed away this morning. I truly don't have words to describe the situation where, on top of having to cope with this, I also must even consider that by leaving to go to her funeral I might be also jeopardizing the last year of my life.

If I'm reading the spreadsheet right the last application that got AIP was on the 21st of November? If so, it doesn't look that good.

I suppose we'll know soon enough. If this week also passes without new AIPs being handed out we can safely assume something's out of place - most likely the typhoon situation. I don't even know how to feel about that. Of course I want those poor people whose homes and livelihoods were destroyed...

I really hope this is one of the rumors that spring up. Has anyone called to verify it in any way? It'd be against even their own projections by placing the processing time well over 13-14 months for the first stage alone.

I doubt it's the holidays holding back the progress... it's almost certainly everyone over at Vegreville is working on the refugee files. While most of us realize the emergency nature of such things it's of course deeply disheartening. Since we have zero discourse (there's no formal process to...

The way this has been explained to me is, chances are very good you will be allowed to reenter. However they will never guarantee it in writing and in advance because of special unforeseen circumstances. What if you commit a crime while you're abroad but you have a letter saying you must be...
