Guys!! I got AIP :)

It says I meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status! It says we need to do a medical and background checks as well. Now we aren't sure about the background check!? Is that police certificates from where I used to live? (England and Denmark) or just Canada?

It doesn't state anything about paying the other half of the immigration fee as well, which we still need to do obviously?!

Also I can see on the email that they are still having our old address - but changed it on ecas, what should I do in this case?

I am so happy I am shaking guys! I guess it's not DM though since they don't say anything about transferring the file or? :)

congrat

Thanks again for that help!

Hi tynoxes!! :)

Thank you so much, I'm happy and relieved at the same time! Just about 11 months for AIPs to get approved! You are very welcome, I am always happy to help where I can! Have you applied inland and did you end up getting out here? :)

Almost there paisana!!

Dear sameboaters!! Did anyone of you have to re-do your MEDS cause the 6 extra months of strike made it longer than the 12 months of validity for the tests?

Hi all!

Was just looking through the OWP and clause (1) states that "Unless authorized, prohibited from attending any educational institution and taking any academic, professional or vocational training course.

Does this apply to company training programs? Or courses under 6 months?

Basically, I am wanting to go back into banking and it requires completion of the Canadian Securities Course and I have no idea if that falls under this clause since there is no actual face to face classes. Tried calling CIC, but the two times I called, the agents were both clueless. :(

On the bright side, CONGRATS everyone who received AIPs & DMs!! :)

Congratulations Line A. and to those who received good news from vegreville. It's been fun to have a response like this after a long wait and this also shows that CIC is working hard to make progress on other application.

Yay! Things are moving along nicely!!! Congrats everyone receiving good news!!!!

No. Those don't require a study permit. The point of that clause is so you know it's not a study permit.

Oh man, you make me laugh! Hahaha that's quite funny! :D
You guys make me so happy I can't express it! Hehe and thank you so much, I hope you guys hear real good news soon! Now I know for sure, it's coming, and it's a relief!! :)

Congrats Line.a, Salsal31, Milena,Bebecharmend and AndyM for all the good news. What an awesome day :D

I'm assuming they won't transfer our file until we get the medical examination done?
Also, I think it's a generic email and then under the [X] is what refers to us which is only asking for us to complete my medical exam. :)

Also do you think with a printout of this email and bringing my passport, explaining that we just got AIP to Alberta health, that they will accept that? Or do they need the actual proof of the work permit.

How long does it take to get the work permit sent out?

:)

Holy awesomeness Congrats Line.a bout time lol. Congrats to everyone who has been receiving good news lately.

I haven't been on that much lately (not cause I didn't want to help answer ppl's questions are queries) cause when i was checking the forum daily it was starting to bum me out a bit cause the rate we were moving at was a snails pace & not to mention specially with all the delays/strikes/natural disasters us the 2013 apps have had over the course of the last year. But now I'm starting to come back here multiple times daily & I'm so happy we have some movement again lets hope for no more delays to our apps & cic keep smashing through the 2013 apps :)
