Hi John! In my case, we both did. First the sponsor gets the e-mail stating that they have met the requirements for eligibility to sponsor (if that's the case of course). Then, the person being sponsored gets an e-mail indicating that they have met the eligibility requirements to apply for Permanent Residency. If a medical was not included with the application they will also send the medical request with the IMM1017E form to take to the Panel Physician.john6514520 said:Who gets the email? Sponsor or sponsored spouse? I should be next, applied on Jan 22, 2013!
AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) is when they received you file. That's the one we're using for our spreadsheet.rorodegdeg said:Hey !
I'm quite lost.
Which date do we have to check to see where we are in the mix.
Is it the one saying that they received our file the 22nd of January 2012 or the date when they begin to work on our file ?
Thanks for your reply.LaylaLala said:AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) is when they received you file. That's the one we're using for our spreadsheet.![]()

I sent my application on the 18th (app. filed) but I received AOR (according to eCas) January 23rd. You're right though. I should ask Guri. LOL Thanks for noticing that!rorodegdeg said:Thanks for your reply.
I check the spreadsheet and it seems you don't have the same date in your profile and in the spreadsheet.
Your AOR was the 18h of January or the 23rd ?
Don't worry. You will probably hear something rather soonjsker said:I haven't heard anything yet and I'm Jan. 17th. Should I be worried? Did they skip me?![]()
I am also January the 17th and no news yet, I think I will start worrying on Friday if I dont hear anything from CIC. I keep checking my email non stop.jsker said:I haven't heard anything yet and I'm Jan. 17th. Should I be worried? Did they skip me?![]()
Me too! Also waiting by the phone because my consultant is supposed to call us as soon as she gets her e-mail!salsal31 said:I am also January the 17th and no news yet, I think I will start worrying on Friday if I dont hear anything from CIC. I keep checking my email non stop.![]()
give your consultant a call by evening, lot of them are lazy to report on time (mine is).jsker said:Me too! Also waiting by the phone because my consultant is supposed to call us as soon as she gets her e-mail!
LaylaLala;LaylaLala said:I do hope so! I can't wait to have those papers in my hand. BTW, what do you mean interview? I didn't get any notifications about an interview. Is it because not everyone has to go for an interview after AIP?
No. There is one more step after DM. You "land" at the final interview where your girlfriend (well don't say gf at interview, she is your common-law) sign the COPR in the local CIC office.bankerguy said:Hey guys,
Most people applying for PR in here have to "land" but my gf is already living in Canada working on a PGWP.
We are still waiting for AIP..so lots of time..but once we receive AIP then DM (hopefully we get them at the same time) she obviously doenst have to 'land'...so once DM is issued to her is she technically a permanent resident? or is there another step after DM for those who are already living here?
thanks,
