Hello All!!
A good news and a bad news for us.
I finally received the email today that I was approved as a sponsor. :D :D
My wife, who is the applicant, received an email requesting for the marriage certificate although we provided marriage license with the application.
I'm guessing they will proceed with the OWP once they receive the marriage license.

After all, it's AIP that we were waiting for sooo long, but it's not completed yet. :( :(
That's great news, congratulations!

Congrats!:) It happened before that only the sponsor received the approval, CIC was asking something from the applicant, but even than the applicant received the OWP. I'm not sure if this is the standard procedure, but at least there is hope that you will get OWP sooner than you think!:)

There are three more August 16 applicant on the spreadsheet, I'm so exited to see some movement:)

YAAAYYY!!! Congrats! I was waiting to hear from you.

My husband still didn't get any email, and two different CIC Call Center Reps said he should not be expecting one. They said me (the Sponsor) receiving the email is all that is required for AIP.

Thank you ACS.
The email for my wife actually came to my email, probably because I put my email address on both of our email contacts in the application.
Did you check with CIC that his email address is properly entered in their system?

FYI, this is the email content of my AIP. It looks like your husband is supposed to receive a separate email...

"This refers to the Application to Sponsor a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner In Canada
Class you submitted to this office on behalf of Younghye You and family (if applicable).
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence
(APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted shortly

I would write down their names because over and over they told me differently.

Have you checked your hubby's ecas? Is it now "in process"? I know ecas is as inconsistent as cic but just wondering if at all, it moved on his part.

That's the exact same email I received, but with my husbands name of course.

And his email address is verified along with all other contact info everytime we call CIC. It's been correct everytime they read it out. They just both said my email is the AIP.

There isn't anyways constancy with the way CIC does everything, like eCAS for another example.

Mine has been updated to Decision Made as the Sponsor.

They can be really awkward about this. Tell them you need a letter for your husband stating he is qualified to apply as a permanent resident and it must be addressed to him stating this. Tell them he needs it to apply for health insurance as they will not accept your copy of the email stating you qualify to sponsor him as proof. They will hem and haw but eventually send him one. I had to do the same thing to get mine. It won't be accepted as AIP even though technically it is.

Guess as it's government the Call Center is closed today. The rest of us in Ontario and QC still have to work though.

I am also trying to get the correct address where I can send my husband's updated passport info directly to Vegreville BEFORE the process his OWP and refuse him cuz his old passport has almost expired. Just because Mississauga has the update, apparently Vegreville does not.

So I emailed off a letter to our MP, first of all asking for a letter of support in regards to our situation with my husband’s record. And secondly with the information about the increase in processing times for Inland, and us not being able to work during the whole process and how it is damaging to Canadian families, meanwhile spouses of foreign students get to work and have health coverage. I also attached a copy of that blog from the former manager of Immigration, a link to our change.org petition, a link to the NDP petition, and a link to our Google Spreadsheet, so the stats can be seen first hand and in real time.

Will update if/when I receive a response. Our previous MP before we moved wrote us a letter to attach to our original Visitor’s Visa Application.

I am also wondering if I should send this to Chris Alexander. I wonder if he would write us a letter…hahaha. But in all seriousness, should I even ask him?? Would it be improper to request such? Could it be bad to explain our whole situation and request leniency? I mention in my letter that as there is no chance for appeal in the case of refusal, I am trying to be proactive and meet the issue head on PRIOR to a decision being made.

I also have a friend who is friends with Hazel Mccallion’s granddaughter. I am also going to be sending this to her. (To those who don’t know, she has been the mayor of Mississauga, since forever…..) While this is her last term, and there is probably not much she can do in regards to speeding up the processing time or evoking changes in the OWP after AOR situation, I figure if I could get a letter in our favor from her, it may even carry more weight than a letter from the MP.

This refers to the Application for Permanent Residence you made under the Spouse or Common-Law
Partner in Canada Class.
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements.
In order to continue processing your application, further information is required. You must complete/submit the following to this office:

uci - My name
> Medical: Complete or provide proof of completion of the Immigration medical
examination. Instructions are being sent in a separate email. This must be received at this office by: 2015/01/22
All requested documents/information and a copy of this correspondence must be submitted within the timeframes specified above (formatted as “year/month/day”). If you are unable to provide any or all of the requested documents/information, please explain why they are not available. Failure to provide the required documents may result in the refusal of your application for permanent residence. Should this occur, no further consideration will be given to your request for permanent residence unless a new application, including fees, is submitted.

I don't get the BOLD letters should i ask my brother sister and parents to send me their medical???
