As for implied status, your student visa would be considered implied if you submitted it before your student visa expired. I'm not 100% sure on this. So far was getting that implied status applied to visitors status and work visas. Don't know about student visas. So I am going to assume it applies to student visas.

Implied status applies to all temporary documents (visit, student, work).

hello id like to know if i can apply for open work permit together with my inland application.been out of status and just want to do things right now.or is it still better for me to just do outland.reason for me doing inland is because my son has a disability and i need to be here to be his advocate .

If you are applying inland it is definitely best for you to submit your OWP with the PR application. The work permit will be granted with AIP and you will be be returned to status.

In your situation I would not do an outland application.

Hey guys, i have one question. As previously stated, My husband and I got married March 2012 and we submitted my application for PR in October. It was received October 25 2012 and we received the letter saying they received it December 21st 2012.
we used a lawyer. we live in Ottawa but our Lawyer is in Toronto. I wish we knew of this forum before we submitted. We did not submitted OWP application in our PR application. i read on here of some one who submitted their application for OWP after the application for PR. since we have a client id number , do you think is okay to submit it now to get a head start of the waiting time?
could you please add me to the spread sheet . i am a frequent visitor on here. some times silent but quite often.

Couldn't agree more!!!

They work so slow these days :(

Can't wait to get my sponsor approval and open work permit begining of next month if they done on time.

I agree too...... Its really really slow... Its gonna be 8 months for me and nothing... Its time enough for them to move from October 8 :(

Tick Tock Tick Tock......... tomorrow will officially be 6mths since we filed our application. I play by the rules - so tomorrow I will start calling them and enquiring every chance I get! :)

Im glad we waited to do the medical....... it would be expiring soon if we hadn't. We just did it last week - I have not gotten a confirmation that it has been received yet...... but I will, right ?

Thank you computer geek.i would definetly do that.it just worries me that I would get denied for owp because of status worse permanent status.my child with my common law partner was born here .id like to send you a longer email but it seems I can't send a private message here .why would you not do an Outland app.if you were in my shoes .

Welcome to the Forum,

Could you also provide me what country you are coming from and where you are currently living?

I wonder the EXACT same thing... oh well hopefully they'll soon start rushing the AIPs because they're going over the 6 month threshold for Oct and Nov applicants

I think no one is working in Family Class applications...no AIPs, no DMs in the last month

It does seem as though things have stalled out. I regularly check the inland 2012 spreadsheet and the Quebec spreadsheet, and it seems there's been no progress for anyone in over a month. Just over 7 months since CIC received my application, and still no word on AIP. I had hoped to be able to be with my family in the US for Thanksgiving this year (in late November in the US), but I'm beginning to doubt that will be possible. I at least want to get AIP soon, so I can try to get into a French course. At least then, I'll feel like I'm doing SOMETHING. (Didn't bother with OWP, as even most anglophone Canadian citizens up here aren't able to find work.)

I'm hoping that we'll soon see a lot of AIPs in Family Class, after the long period of seeming inactivity!

I have also noticed that the processing time to get new PR card after landing has gone up to 63 days from 53 days.

Hello guys, I have a question about the process timelines. Not sure if its necessary for me to describe my case in details, here is some:
We have an inland PR application with my husband, Canadian citizen(we got married April 13 2012 in Ontario). I am US citizen.
Here is what's on my e-file online:

We received your application for permanent residence on October 16, 2012.

We started processing your application on May 1, 2013.

Medical results have been received (Today, May 30)

We got AIP with my UCI number and the medical exam request on May 1, they started processing the same day.
I wanted to ask someone who had apply in same category, what is the next step? And how long is it going to take now till this next step?

The next step is to wait for decision made. If you haven't applied for OWP, you can also apply for that as well.

If you want to be put on timesheet, I can add you to it. Would like to know 2 things. Where are you living now and what day did you get your medical test done?
