Finally Im a PR!! ... I went in the morning to my 2nd appointment and they had everything ready, I just signed the letter and that was it, no questions asked, they only asked for my passport and then .. "Congratulations" :D

Im so happy is finally over, I just cant wait to get my PR card and go visit my family :D

Guys thank you very much for all your help and support! I'll still around to see when your big day comes for those still waiting! Hope all of you get everything set and done soon as well! :D

Hi guys! I'm new to this thread. I just want to ask whether I can be a signatory for the settlement plan (provincial nominee) for a friend at the same time apply for my mom's supervisa. and also, if i help my close friends actually they are couple, will i able to help my brother under provincial nominee also? I am confused coz i want to help my family first before my friends. Thank you very much.

Landed yesterday! We had to wait for about an hour (there was few more couples) and we had to redo my picture :-( and then it took only 5-10 minutes. 2 questions, sign here and there, stamp in passport and we are done.
I didn`t go for a new sin though, the lady at the immigration said that I need to wait for an actual card but I know few people on the forum have received it at the same time so maybe I will try later. Do you just need to show The CPR letter and the stamp?
Any way, it`s done! Good luck to all of you! Hope it`s gone be done for you guys soon too!

What I would do if I was in your shoes, I would go to a different canada service office from the one you landed. There are more than one Canada service offices in edmonton. This way you can get a different agent and have papers with you stating you can apply for SIN using COPR IDs.

Even the landing letter we received says "for your convenience, service canada representatives will be at this interview to assist you in obtaining your new SIN, provided you meet proof of identity requirements"

Um-dunno says she is from USA. So she is either studies Russian in school, a russian decent or used google translate.

Do you speak russian, or ukrainian or both?

My sister-in-law is half ukrainian.

Russian is my native, I am originally from Ukraine. But I have US citizenship for few years now. And applying for PR in Canada. Imagine, finished one immigration process, started another one right away. Life is an interesting thing)

I suppose you lost your Ukrainian citizenship when you became US citizen. I know you won't lose your US citizenship once you get canadian citizenship down the road.
