Congratulations Popo012. When was ur application received if u don't mind me asking?

Thats true, another one of an applicant applied in 2011 forum... it took her exact one year.. so yeah... i have no reason they take long either.. but sometimes it worries me lol. Did they ask you for any additional info or client update form?

Yeah I guessed your paki from your name...
I had same idea that they take longer for pakies, but one of my friends applied in Nov2011. He got AIP exactly the same time as other people were getting here on this forum.
Even my AOR came around same date as other, so I have no reason to believe they take longer for us. But they do a proper check on security background, which is fair.
I submitted all my docs with my app so lets see.
My wife is sponsoring me.

CIC have updated the processing timeline today. They are working on April 6 application now, and the processing time for Step 1 is reduced to 6 months!!

Way to go CIC!!

Hi Wolanila,

Nope nothing yet. I've heard that Scarborough is a bit slower. CiC is moving at an awesome speed but the offices are still a bit slow. Well scarborough at least it. Oh well..

Its crazy that they are in April already!!! More good news to come!!!!

Hi buzybee and others:

I have a question about AOR. When do you normally receive it? Vegreville received our application on July 17 and I have not heard anything yet. Do they always send it? It is an e-mail, a letter?. I was looking at the excel file with the timelines, but it does not say when CIC received all the applications.

Another question: after how long after they receive the application I would see anything online? Since I have not heard anything from CIC my husband does not have any client ID. Will I see anything under his name or under mine (the sponsor)? I have my Client ID from the time I was dealing with CIC myself, can I use it?

Thanks a million!!!

You usually receive an email 3-4 months after your application was received, though not all the time. Some people never get an email yet their application gets processed nonetheless. On the spreadsheet, the date under AOR is when the applications were received and the date under "Received email - in process" is when we received the AOR email.

I was able to see the application on ecas a few days after receiving the AOR email.

And yes you could use your client ID. I also am the sponsor and I also had a UCI prior to making the whole application. However, you won't be able to see anything unless they update ecas.
