Hey Everyone –
Just sneaking on at work today as I am so excited with CIC date update!!!! I can only hope they keep this up and I may hear from them in 2 – 3 weeks rather than the 3 – 4 I was mentally preparing for.
LY: I know your getting heaps of encouragement and advice today re calling CIC – and I agree, you really need to. In my past life (pre immigration to Canada!!!) I was a Call Centre Manager. When you call be really calm and understanding – the staff hate when people call already angry and they will not try to help you are just another call on the call board they have to get through for the day to achieve their KPI’s, unfortunately they don’t care about the person on the other end.
When you speak to them open up by saying I have noticed on the website that they are now processing applications that are received by July 25, I also read on the website that it recommends us to call should we not have heard anything and as my application was sent on XXXX and in turn received by yourselves on XXX I thought it is best to call to ensure that everything is in order……
If they say yes everything is fine – continue with – I also understand that you are not in a position to speed up my application however I am concerned that their may be a problem as I have not received any correspondence as yet and your website clearly notes I should have received something by now is there a superior that I can speak with who may be able to provide me with more information as to why I have not heard anything as yet or the steps I should take next. Be firm and polite and fingers crossed they do transfer you.
Wishing you the best of luck – I hope it works for you……
