What will happen in case of dependents - spouse and child ? Is this requirements applicable to all family members ? Or, can a principal applicant only visit canada and activate the PR status ?

Thanks.

If someone could clarify please:

If a year passed since medicals (July 2015) before we can get to Canada, is it simply a matter of going for a new medical assessment?

Is this checked at border entry?

Thanks
No, the COPR becomes invalid. This question is answered by Asivad in the same thread in an earlier page. It is upto the mercy of CIC whether they just ask you to do remedicals or cancel your whole PR application and ask you to wait for an ITA. It is also more problematic because your PCC will also expire (should be done 6 months before AOR) and sometimes even IELTS might expire too (2 years validity).

Everyone must validate their own PR statuses, AFAIK. You cannot activate the PR status of your spouse or your child. They can either land with you or they can land after you do.

If you land first, your status becomes active, what about the status of your spouse and child? Their COPR might become invalid if their meds expire.

Thanks for pointing that out; that must be really difficult for some people that are heading toward 7 months processing, isn't it? In reality they will have 4 months maximum if you go for your medicals a month before you submit? :-\

Well, that is why when people ask me, I ask them to go AS LATE AS POSSIBLE. So, if I were planning to submit your application on Friday, I'd do my meds on Monday.

This was my mistake. There will be almost 2 months gap between my medicals and AOR.

Hi,
Can anyone help me with answering this question:

My beginning of classes is on 1th Jan 2018 and now I am apply for Visa (study permit), however, maybe 1 month later following applying to visa, I will differ my admission to May 2018 because of a personal problem.
So, can I go 4 month latter to Canada although I get my visa around end of this December?
Is it possible? Can I enter to Canada with 4 month delay?

Guys
i am in dilemma to whether move to Canada or stay in USA.So to make this decision i would need more time to think.

So could you please tell me how much time i got to respond to ITA of express entry .if i say yes to ITA, Then how much time i further can delay moving finally to Canada .
Any links to cic website will help.

Please help.
Hello.

I know it's been a while since you've made that decision, but I am in a similar situation. I need help. How long were you able to delay the landing? and what did you end up doing? stay in the US or move to Canada?

Kindly.

Hello folks, I have been reading through the posts on this thread and need your suggestions on the following:
1. I got a PNP in Dec 2019, so will be picked up by ITA in its upcoming draw in Jan 2020. Means, I will go for my Meds in Jan / Feb 2020.
2. My wife is expecting and the delivery is tentative around May / June 2020.

If I get done with my decision by June / July 2020 (6 to 7 months after ITA), going by the post in this thread, I can defer landing in Canada to Jan / Feb 2021. But what about my wife? Will she have to compulsorily land by the same time? As the child will be too young to travel, I would want them to come at a later date.

Catch 22 ??

Please advise.
