how much can i delay my arrival in Canada after getting ITA

Guys
i am in dilemma to whether move to Canada or stay in USA.So to make this decision i would need more time to think.

So could you please tell me how much time i got to respond to ITA of express entry .if i say yes to ITA, Then how much time i further can delay moving finally to Canada .
Any links to cic website will help.

Here is what I plan - Get visa, go to Canada and apply for PR. Get back to India and continue job + job search.
My friends will collect PR and I'll leave for Canada.

Your COPR is invalidated if you don't land before the set date. Then you are at the mercy of CIC. Not worth the risk.

You will be very lucky, if you get a job while sitting in India. Based on what I have read, your resume needs to have Canadian Address and Canadian phone# and you need to pick up the telephone call when the recruiter calls. Also, they will schedule a face to face interview. You may ask them for skype call and they may or may not oblige.

My impression is that immigrants who are already in Canada struggle to get their first permanent job but perhaps so grabbing a job sitting from India might be possible if you have some exceptional skillset or you are counting on referral from friends.

Thanks Asivad. The "set date" is decided by CIC based solely on medicals expiry? Or is it some fixed number of months from COPR. I saw some guys got 9 months from COPR date, my question is will CIC fix it based on medicals date?

It is set based on 1 year from date of medicals or passport expiry date, whichever is earlier.

Do you have your ITA already? If not, this plan doesn't make sense. If so, it's best to wait until you've received your PR before job hunting. It will make things much easier for you.
