Congratulation! Finally you got it.

Thanks. Yea, after a bit more than 1 year - definitely longer than we anticipated.

Guys, question about the passport photos - should the name and address of the photographer/studio written on the back be in Chinese characters or English?

What did they say on the letter/email? Did they specifically request for RCMP or Hong Kong no criminal record ? I basically have the similar timeline on ecas and they specifically asked for Hong Kong no criminal record. I was in Canada for 14 yrs and I didn't need to provide rcmp record.

email from HKVO saying " RCMP Criminal Record Check: If your residence period in Canada has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide a certified criminal record check . This must be received at this office by: 2016/05/07"

I would try to find a studio that could do English. I guess depending where you are that might be more difficult.

My wife lives close to a city that has some professional photographer studios, and we went to a place that has English stamps.

Unfortunately that is not available in her city. We also wrote the info on BOTH the pictures instead of 1... i hope that shouldn't matter.. ???

Congrats to you too! And thanks - they just hand wrote it in English again on one photo.

Is it safe to get plane ticket now for travelling 1 month after sending the passport in to get the visa?

Hey guys, wife just got her PPR. However, she is in Canada with me on multi-entry visitor visa. The mailing address we gave was her parents place back in China, and we just sent an email to the visa office asking if we can send her passport to Ottawa. Was wondering if we should just send it to Ottawa right now anyways, since it might take them longer than 30 days to respond?

YES. The letter specifically says if you're currently in Canada, send it to CPC- Ottawa.

I sent stuff 2016/4/22, and I ordered flights 2016/6/6. I hope I can catch the flights since many got visa back within 2~4 weeks.

The late you book the flights, the more expensive.

Congrats to all who got ppr. Any Hong Kong citizen applicants got PPR these days or straight to COPR?

Ecas Changed to Decision Made today!! Hopefully ppr or copr soon ;D
