Can I Enter Canada on TRV Before PR Landing? (Passport Request Received)

Hi everyone,

I received the "ready for visa" email for my outland PR application, asking me to submit my passport within 30 days for the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR).

I understand the letter clearly says:
"Please note that you STILL need to submit your passport(s) even if you or your accompanying family members have a valid Canadian temporary residence visa or permit."

However, I already have a valid TRV and a flight to Canada in less than a week. At this point, it’s not possible for me to delay or cancel my travel.
I’m wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation:
Were you able to enter Canada on your TRV and complete the PR landing process (virtually or otherwise) from within Canada?
This situation is stressful and I’d be grateful for any advice or shared experiences.

Yes, you can. Note that since you'll be changing how you land, it might take a lot longer - or in other words if you wanted to complete landing sooner and have right to work, health care etc when you arrive, you'd be better advised to stay and submit passport.

If you don't care about those things, go ahead and travel on the TRV.

I am not particularly in a hurry for right to work or insurance and so I would like to travel on TRV.

Is there any chance that border officer may deny my entry and ask me to return back and submit passport?
Do you have any experience or know if anyone in a similar situation able to enter Canada on TRV?
Any document that I need. I already submitted a webform stating this as they asked us to inform them immediately if I am unable to submit the passport.

Sorry for lot of questions as this my first time doing this.

-Many cases of people doing this, it's not a reason to be denied at airport.

-If you're asked anything about this upon arrival, just tell them the truth (you had tickets already and could not wait for passport submission/stamping process).

-When you are in Canada, you should immediately advise of address and request for landing process to be done in-Canada.

* Something that has once or twice happened with others at airport, but is NOT something you should expect to happen - when asked what's up at airport immigration on arrival in Canada, the immigration officers there offered to print the COPR (doc needed for the landing process) and did the landing process on the spot for them. For this reason: travel with the photographs required by IRCC per the instructions for PR card. It's a long shot, but it has happened a few times.
