My wife was talking to some of the people in her QQ group and they were saying that HK usually sends an AOR...so hopefully we'll both hear something by the end of this month.

For us, I don't see how it could take very long to approve the visa...there is nothing at all that should cause any delays...any checks they do (security, background, etc.) should be very quick and easy.

I was wondering if others have had any updates? Mobeyk and I just got our stage 1 approvals, but for those that got it a few months ago, any updates?? Did you get an AOR?

Let's keep this thread updated to help those of us who are just starting the journey through stage 2....

Cheers!

I want to know what is AOR... ?
I send the application on 15 March ,and received the step one approval on 3 July, then can login the CIC website on 11 July , that show DM.

I can check the status at CIC website using UCI # , but can't check the FS # , can you using the FS # to check the stauts ? What is the dfifference between these two # to check ?

AOR is Acknowledgement of Receiving, when Visa office or CIC acknowledge that they received your documents. I can only use UCI #. It is the client number you received from CIC. The File number refers to your documents. Whenever you correspond you should give both numbers. The UCI# each person receives once. The file number can be different as you might apply for spousal sponsorship now and later for parent sponsorship or other sponsorship with the same UCI# but the file number will be different.
So now its the 3 of us. I think the sponsored person receives AOR email. It seems it can take up to 60 days after sponsorship approval to receive it. So bobokiko will hear first from Hong Kong.

We are all very similar in our timelines, so let's hope we all get an AOR ASAP!

But for sure, we should keep updating this thread...there are so many other threads for various visa offices...but only one for Hong Kong...still seems strange that only a few people on this forum are going through the HK visa office...

Gatca, you say your file was received by HK VO. Your file as transfered on July 16th, that means the date it has been sent. How do you know that your file was received by HK VO. I think that your file is on its way to HK and you will get an AOR from HK that they received the file.

Please quote your source or link...

The only similarity is the length in China. I have enough proof of my intention to return. What exactly did the sponsor provide for proof of intention to re-establish in Canada? I've submitted what I would consider to be enough proof, and others have also said that what I have submitted is more than enough...

Would you mind posting more details? Is the sponsor a white Canadian? Definitely more information is needed...

We are both still young. We have a child together (he is a Canadian citizen). I have a secure job offer in Canada. I have correspondence with banks and reality companies regarding mortgages and property. I am a registered student at a Canadian university. I submitted letters from family and friends supporting our decision and my parents have offered us a place to stay when we first arrive. I wrote a 4 page detailed account of everything we need to do to cut ties with China and re-establish in Canada. All my family is in Canada, so I definitely still have ties in Canada. Without knowing more about the case you have mentioned, it's impossible for me to guage if this might be a problem for us. If the cases are very similar, I will fly home to start re-establishing myself by renewing my license, opening bank accounts, etc...but I really don't see this as something I will have to do, at least I hope not!!

Each case is different. We do not know details. The refused person must have simewhere a red flag in their application. We should not concentrate on refusals. There are at least same amount of accepted cases. If they refuse us we go back at them. If they tefuse us twice i move to china. If my wife is not allowed to come by my country its not my country anymore.
Lets stay posituve.

The applicant is from Fujian province. HK refuses A LOT of Fujian applications.

I just finished speaking with the person who was refused. They did not seem to provide very much evidence. Only a short plan, including letter from the sponsor's parents offering a place to stay + bank statement. The evidence I have submitted is a lot more substantial. We're going to get the pet relocation company to send us an official quotation this coming week. We will also gather additional pictures we have taken plus other evidence, and submit to the HK visa office.

The job offer I have in Canada is very important. I think this is the key.

If they still don't believe me and request additional documents, I will go back to Canada....I don't want my wife to be refused, so if that's what it takes to prove to them I intend to live in Canada with my family, then so be it!

because I just received an email from them and they gave a different UCI that my husband received earlier and on the email said "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2012/07/16." And the email was sent out by Hong Kong Consulate General of Canada Visa Section .

For the AOR, it is an email or a paper document?

We are still waiting, 1 month now after the interview and nothing yet. e-Cas showing "In Process" for my wife and her address in China. She is at the edge of a nervous break down. Going through some rough times.

My husband received the same AOR e-mail from CIC HK to say also recevied the PR Application on the same date as yours. It seem that we are in the same group now. Think this AOR by e-mail is already the official and will not receive any paper docuement, which the same as the sponsorship e-mail told will not have any further paper docuement to be sent.

A letter today by post office from CIC HK which made us so excited when opened it, but only to request my husband to send 2 more blank back photos to them. We have sent 5 photos together with our application to CIC Canada as reqested in their website mentioned to have the chop to show the photos taken date and the shop's name, but now need 2 more blank back?? Is ther anybody has the same?

However, hope this is the positive sign that I'm going onto a further step. God bless me!
