 Looool I don't have any of his paperwork I didn't think he would have an online file since he's had status here for time and sponsored me. To be honest up until a week ago when my COPR papers were reissued would you belive that I didn't even have my UCI # :-X to be honest I'm of a live and let live nature.. I simply don't want him or his parents poking around and trying to mess with my documents, information or addresses on file. The way I see it is the less they know the better at this point .
As your sponsor, he will have a current ecas page as well as you. My sponsor can see that I have landed on her login. She doesn't need to login as me. She cannot see my address information however.

From this point forward , if for any reason my spouse or his in-laws were to follow up with the status would they be able to do anything ?
Basically there are only a few ways your spouse will be able to find out you got PR status:
- if he contacts CIC to ask them
- if he tries to sponsor a new spouse in next 3 years, he will soon find out he has an existing undertaking
- if you go on social services (welfare) in next 3 years, he will get a notice of this as he has to repay it

If he finds out you became PR he can indeed try to tell CIC that you landed under misrepresentation and were already separated. This would possibly lead to an investigation, but he would need to have proof such as emails or something in writing that you had mutually agreed to a separation/divorce, before you did the landing. If everything was verbal, then you can just say at time of landing you were still a couple and the relationship officially ended after that.

Nonetheless, I finally decided it was for the better to check that box off .. I don't want them to have any additional information such as the address I used to obtain my papers or where the PRC will arrive If and when they find out that I have landed.
Like Zardoz mentioned as a sponsor he could see that I landed , it now says " decision made" if he were to check and where is says permanent residence application status it now says " not available on the internet". If anyone were to follow up with my status however it would probably be my in-laws since they are the ones who with held my COPR papers and are in possession of the info on there needed to look anything up (aka UCI # ) and with that information they could have easily logged onto my ecas page.

If they really want to find out if you landed, as sponsor your spouse could simply call CIC and ask, and they would tell him.

I think the risk of him contacting CIC and asking them is minimal because he and his parents think they were very smart by withholding her COPR and did not think of the possibility that she might get it re-issued. The COPR is expiring soon and they will think that she did not land and the COPR is expired so case closed.

2 and 3 still stand though.

As for getting an ID card, it is possible in many provinces. If you are in ON, you can get this card: http://www.ontario.ca/government/ontario-photo-card but because the OHIP card also has a photo, it is often accepted as an ID as well. In AB, you'd go to a registry and get an ID there.

OHIP is actually not accepted in many non-government places for photo ID. There is some province restriction regarding this. Apparently they are trying to limit fraud since anyone who has access to your OHIP number can use it to access your medical history and also use it to commit fraud.

Anyway I can't imagine the sponsor not caring/knowing the whereabouts of his own wife. Even people I know who separated and dealing with a nasty divorce knew where the other moved to. How can you have no idea where your spouse is?

It is true that OHIP cards are not always accepted everywhere. Driver's licence takes more precedent in preference for verification over OHIP.

That said, that is why I mentioned the Non-driver's licence Id card are available for those who don't drive a car or those who are not qualified to drive a car. This allow these people to still use ID needed for identity purposes.

Even students at high schools can use these cards too.

He may know exactly where she is but if he believes that he was so smart to withhold the COPR, he would not realize that she managed to land. He would assume that she is staying on a visit visa, illegally or that she managed to get a work permit.

Not so sure about that. When I sign in as sponsor, I see "decision made" on my wife and where she landed at on a specific day. Not sure how you can misread that to think she came in on a visit visa or work permit.

My comment was more of a commentary on the marriage of the OP than any logistical issues. If the OPs husband doesn't really care to know where his wife is other than that she can't land as a PR, and the OP wants to hide her whereabouts to her husband and in-laws, I guess the marriage really is in a very bad state sad to say.

Why would he sign in though?

He successfully kept the COPR from his wife. In fact he still has it. Why would he have any reason to believe that she managed to land on the COPR he still has in his possession?

Or a mutual friend/acquaintance?

All it takes is someone to "congratulate" him on the success of his wife becoming a PR. Then the fun begins...
