get your MP involved...call at 7:45 am CIC because 4 months is way more than what theyre supposed to take to process your SA..

My MP's secritary looked into it for me today.... Aaaaaand drumroll pleeeeease...NOTHING. found out the exact same thing as I did when I called yesterday

So I'm assuming you don't have SA yet? Because they didn't receive your updated form until Oct 30th, you application was probably pushed back to that receipt date so you would have to wait the current processing time (44 days) after that date until you could technically be curious as to what's going on...so like midway through December (sorry).

Once you receive SA, the application then gets transferred to Havana so they wouldn't have known anything until that time. It takes about a week or so for the transfer. I received SA and then about a week later, my husband got a call from embassy in Havana saying he was missing some info.

nope,,,in toronto,,montreal,,and ottawa all the staff at the cuban consulate and embassy are CUBANS..
if i was canadian though,,I would get into the embassy in havana,,,maybe its because You guys are too nice and polite(i mean this as a compliment)
if you screamed and pushed into the embassy of course you would get in(the cuban way) but they know canadians dont do that and a simple no is enough....
no matter where you are,,,if you seek info at your embassy THEY have to let you in....
another easier option is to say you did something bad or that you lost your passport they WOULD have to let you in

Yeah. I didn't really need to get in as my husband was dropping off his forms, I just thought it was odd. I've come to realize that it really doesn't matter if you throw a tantrum in Cuba. They honestly don't give a sh*t. I've seen many a tantrum go absolutely nowhere....lol :

Not Oct 30th... OCT 1st ( I got the email requesting the new form on Sept 25, sent it off on the 28th and it was delivered on Oct 1st. So its Been over 44 days But the website also says that they are (Working on applications received on September 29, 2014) (

Yes wait until the website includes the week that you submitted the extra docs and then call them back. Have they at least confirmed that they have your application? They should be able to tell you that.

Well they sent the email requesting the form sooo i guess that was there way of informing me that they received it Lol Yeah I have no other option but to wait... Guess I just missed the cut off

newgirl1 I was in the same boat as you. I sent in my application on July 23rd and I got the notification from Canada Post that CIC received it on July 24th. Infact on ECAS it shows up that they received it on July 24th as well however, they asked me to send the updated Aug version of the form and said my application was incomplete until they received that. I was fuming when I got the request because I already sent mine in July and the form was still valid.

I was following some threads on various other forums and it seems that CIC did this to a few applications. Not sure about their reasoning behind it but they did it and you know when it comes to the government we can rarely question things without being put on a black list. And with CIC everything is so vague and we don't have any contacts to speak about our case specifically. All these case workers are working behind the scenes so all we can really do is wait.

Just to give you a timeline of my situation; I sent my app July 23rd CIC received it July 24th, I received my AOR Aug 28th and in this letter they advised me that I would need to re-send the updated form but I was in Cuba so I didn't process anything until I came back. I resent the form Sept 16th and I believe they received it on Sept 19th due to a delay with Canada Post. I must have called CIC a millions times until I finally heard from them on Oct 14 that they received my form and that they were going to start processing my application. Mind you everything starts from scratch so they were no longer considering that I sent my app in July.

On Oct 21 I received my SA and they sent it to Havana. On Nov 7th I received a request from Havana to pay my RPRF ( i didn't pay upfront because I wanted to get an idea of how much longer I would when once they sent me the request for the payment). I sent my receipt of payment on Nov 11th and after calling them every other day to follow up lol I finally confirmation today from CIC that they've received my receipt and updated my payment on file.

But now it's just a waiting game, it sucks cause we have no idea what's going on in Havana. Like I tried emailing them a few times and calling and I got nothing .

Luckily for you though u got SA like a month after they received Your new form, its been like a month and like 3 weeks for me so far ( U waited quite a while in the begininng tho :/ Seems like youre moving along now though, good luck!

My SA was approved Aug 26, then the application was received in Havana Sept 18, so it took them over 3 weeks to get it to Havana in my case. Since then, I have not heard anything... no requests for new/additional documents, nothing. I can't call or email (it's still well within the posted processing time of 9 months.) So I've ordered my notes, just to see what they have done, if anything. My guess and expectation is that it is sitting somewhere collecting dust for another few months. Especially seeing as the holidays are coming. Or maybe they want to clear out all the 2014 applications by the end of the year... here's hoping

Dont forget that in Cuba the holidays arent a big deal like here in Canada so it shouldnt effect things I dont think. Crossing my fingers for you! Holding space for each and everyone of you through this nerve wrecking time

Oooh I haveanother questions. You know how we had to submit the original Cuban passport with the application (not just a photocopy) Well mine got returned with a letter saying they dont need it at this time, Well then why did the application say they needed the original then? Did this happen to u guys too?
