Ok, so wait, lets say hubby lands before then, up to and including jan 13th, then old system applies? and no need for all this extra poopiness?? Gosh, now even more I want him to land before then, so we dont have to deal with all this. Going to the cuban consulate in montreal is on its own a very difficult task! lol SO frustrating that its becoming MORE difficult.

By saying the PRE will be mandatory for those marrying foreigners, you mean that there will no longer be the option of the PVE? I was planning on going for PRE regardless so that doesnt bother me.... but the passport stamp sucks too. UGH, leave it to cuba to make things MORE challenging by trying to make them easier... lol

Yes Avana, those leaving the country to live outside or who are married to a foreigner will no longer have the option to use the PVE in Cuba and then apply in Canada for the PRE.
They say the PRE will be mandatory (not official) just talk, obviously they are going to find their lost money somewhere.
And yes all old passports will have to be re-authorized.... They say (so far) that it will be free.

And yes I would rather have a root canal than go to the consulate in Toronto lol

Thanks for that info Shuster2210......I knew that Cuba would not let the $550cuc slip through their fingers!!! LOL....

I have heard as well that for now that getting the stamp on the existing passport is free and it can be done now.....but again that is the word on the "calle" in Matanzas.

So still having trouble locating that registration form on the Consulate website.....any chance you can send me the link my friend......

So on to a happier note......I am as ready house-wise for my husband as I can be.....now to focus on me .....haircut & colour today; wax tomororrow and mani and pedi on Thursday!!! Feels like I should be going to Cuba!!! LOL......down to 78 hours.....

Yeah KJG!!!!

I'll get my friend to send me the link to the online form, I can't seem to find it either lol.

Receive my GCSM notes this morn.

So from what I can gather, there was no work done on my file (or input) until oct 24th.
I guess I got a slow poke visa officer.

Their only question was those missing dates. Interview was waived on the 24th pending the submission of those missing dates.
The vo really focused on the fact of the daily communication, and calculated the average monthly minutes spent on the phone.
Also mentioned the amount of trips etc.
also mentioned that all communication was done in Spanish etc.

So it appears that once the file was say down with and opened the decision was made same day!
Hubby is finally going to get new marriage cert and line up for the PRE today. Lets hope all goes well and we get a date.
Phone bill this month is gonna be huge, but at least it will be the last big one!!

Thanks Shuster2210...that will be great if your friend can do that!!! Yes not much in the notes is there!!!! There was absolutely nothing negative in our notes at all so it was probably the age difference that required the interview or the fact that we got this sour lady that a few people we know got and she is not really rude but definitely not friendly!!! But again that was ok because we expected an interview!!!

Well my husband finally got the money today....so now he can get pay for the taxi to get to the airport and pay the airport tax!! LOL.....can't believe I forgot about the airport tax......my texts still aren't going through but at least I can get his!!!

He has just handed in his ID and has the PRE in his hand and the white letter....he feels destressed now!!!!

He had to hand over his ID at the immigration office together with proof of his flight and then they gave him his PRE and white letter. So I guess that means when we go back to Cuba and we go to a club in Varadero we won't be in the "cuban" line anymore!!!!

sorry hun....i am confused! I understand that he hands in his ID when he picks on the PRE but how can he have a proof of flight booking if you do not know when you are actually getting the PRE? White letter??? what is that?

They hand in their libreta and their carnet de identidad. They still have their passports etc
