sorry hun....i am confused! I understand that he hands in his ID when he picks on the PRE but how can he have a proof of flight booking if you do not know when you are actually getting the PRE? White letter??? what is that?

no problem......he went on Oct 31/12....they told him everything was ready......they would release the PRE and white letter to him when he comes back with his ticket confirmation....so he went back today with his ticket and then he had to hand over his ID card and they gave him the PRE and white letter....PRE is a card he keeps to come and go from Cuba and keep his bank acct and property.....white letter is for leaving the country and will remain at the airport I believe......

the PRE allows them to come and go from Cuba for the majority of people...and it will also allow your spouse to be able to buy property in the future......and open a bank account there in the future.....but for many it is the card the allows you the freedom to come and ago....hte PVE allows you to exit Cuba once......so if you leave to go to Canada and never get the PRE you will have a hard time leaving Cuba if you go there...in fact they won't let you until you apply and get the PRE......

I booked his ticket through Cubana Airlines and he just had to go to a travel office that handles Cubana Airlines...gave his last name and reservation number and they printed out his ticket for him.....

There's always something with Cuba.
Soon enough passports will need to be renewed....$$$$$$$$$
