Ladies with hubby's coming after January 14th when the new immigration rules come into effect.
1) Cuba is NOT eliminating the PRE (permiso de resedencia en el exterior) at all, it will be status quo, and from the rumor mill, may now be mandatory for those that are married to a foreigner and leaving the country (not official just the word on the calle)
So you will have to wait and see what they will do, and there will be a lot of confusion
2) They will have to go to immigration and have their passports re-authorized with a new stamp to be valid.
Not sure if they can start doing that now, or if that also will be in effect after the 14th of January...
3) once they are here they must register at the consulate or embassy for consular registration $16 cdn
They need this to use any consular services and also to be allowed entrance into Cuba again.
This is very new and a little confusing to all Cubans, but it is required.
Just a heads up señoritas.... ;-)
