Hi, I am on H1B visa and also have a Canadian visitor visa, H1B expired last year. Am I eligible for a H1B Dropbox appointment in Vancouver? Could you share your recent experiences on drop box appointment wait times and how much time did it take for you to get back your passport.

The dropbox eligibility is for Canadian PR holders only. You can call Department of Homeland security and ask but they say to do DS160 and then go on appointment website and enter details and it will determine the eligibility and tell you either to do dropbox OR book counselor appointment.

If you have a visitor visa then for sure you need to go via consular appointment only. People who are residents of Canada(either on work permit or PR) and PRs living outside Canada are eligible for dropbox as far as we have seen till now.
Am I eligible for H1B DropBox in Canada? I am currently PR in Canada, but my most recent visa is F1 issued in India, which expired in June 2023.
The system will decide if you are eligible for dropbox or not. Create an account and pay fee, complete the questionnaire and then you will be assigned a dropbox or to attend interview accordingly. In some cases, even if you get an eligibility for dropbox there is a chance you might be called for an interview.
Thanks for your reply. Yeah that's what I read. but looking here if anyone is same situation who got Dropbox. I am also looking to wait for another 1 years and go after getting Canadian Citizenship

Thanks for your answer, but I have read here, that we have to select few questions as Yes to eligible for Drop box.
1. Are you a resident of Canada,
2. Are you applying in the same category?
For the first one, obviously, We put yes if we are residents. Still, for 2nd one, even though we have B1/B2 or F1 visas previously issued in different countries and getting first-time H1b visa in Canada, they said to answer Yes to that question so that the system gives us DropBox Option. I even read on Reddit that people called a Consulate and got the same answer.

I am sending my documents to stamp H1B ( Interview waiver) . do you know if I send the original I-797B or a copy as it is not specified.
Receipt Number for your approved petition as it appears on your Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker Form I-129 or Notice of Action Form I-797 from USCIS (does not apply to H1B1 visa applicants). - This means a copy of I129 Correct? Do they need original as it is not very clear?

Hey, can you let me know if this is your first time H1b in Canada? also, what options have you selected when trying to book that gave you Dropbox? Also do you have F1 previously and resident of Canada?
