This is the most perfect response to this subject in my opinion. We all need to be well guided.
I noticed CBSA also likes calling directly the applicant, instead of lawyer. Our CBsA agents always preferred direct communication regarding removal orders. At first, we thought it was scam as well, but then it became obvious this was genuine.

I received email today from Niagara Falls that my police certificate was received and basically no more documents needed so far.
I received AIP on August 31.

How long for COPR?

I already submitted my Police clearance certificates and Right to permanent fee along with the file.

Happened to my partner. They asked for PCC although it was submitted before 3 months earlier. We just resent the old one which was still valid. I think they just misplaced it the first time.

if however you returned to the country from which PCC is issued and lived there over 6 months again, then they may ask a new one.
