I received my GCMS today and I must confess that I do not understand the stuff at all (42pages of ****). What do they mean by due date? Is GCMS reliable? I submitted my app in Oct 2011 and everything still shows NOT STARTED (Going by the GCMS).

What sis Fmily Profile Info? Sorry for the question
Your profile is answers to the following
Visa Office......:
App. Filed.......:

Sponsor Approval:
It is more like a timeline

The profile screen in the default theme normally consists of a single main pane, with an additional menu to the left to lead you through the editing options for your own profile. Please note that, because an SMF forum may be customized extensively by its administrator(s), the features and user permissions described here are typical rather than definitive.

If you have access to Adobe Acrobat, it will only take a couple of mins for it to process it. But like I said you most probably need to resize the pages, because CIC scans them too big!
I've noticed this as well - they are bigger than 45"x45" as I recall (the limit for Acrobat's built-in OCR).

Acrobat does a fantastic job of OCR.

Yup, they were bigger that the limit. The only bummer about Acrobat is that it doesn't resize the pages, so I had to open it in a different program and "print" it to pdf on a normal paper size, and then back to Acrobat and 2 mins later, I had a clean perfect OCR'd version :)

Yeah, mine too. But when I get impatient I just go up and down the files. I figured with OCR at least I can search for word. Dunno, it's probably my technical side trying to fix and analyze things :)

On a different note, someone over in Ankara applicants mentioned they have received their GCMS notes. A few points from what they described:

-They have their eligibility, medical, and criminality passed.
-The last entries in the files are the same as the day their eCAS went "In Process".
-This was a few month ago and they are currently waiting on their security checks to be completed.

Yes, but I guess there is no control over the security checks and it depends on Nationality etc.

However, what was interesting for me was that it seems the entries aren't necessarily done at the time of assessment. They can be entered after a stage is finished.

I am with you on that depressing feeling. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to now be in Canada (been here for a month) and so grateful that my nationality allows this to be so. But I can't help but dwell on the fact that my app was basically approved 12 weeks ago and all the medical stuff is holding everything up for such a long time.

I cannot work or take classes or anything! I am thrilled to be here with my husband but for now, while I wait for CIC to do their thing, I am deprived of anything else that makes life worthwhile. It's hard and I feel a little isolated and borderline miserable about that. My husband is very understanding and is trying to get us 'out and about', he's so great. :)

Anyway, I'll try not to make this any more self-pitying. We're all in a hard place, I just wanted to empathise about how difficult it is to have your future in someone else's hands, and not knowing for how long. It's a drag, absolutely.

I cast my eye over my GCMS notes again tonight in case I had any lightbulb moments concerning some of the acronyms/abbreviations and such. I think it's pretty safe to say that TFR stands for 'transfer', the context I see it in always seems to suggest transfers. I even used that abbreviation myself in my (non-immigration-related) line of work back home.

But I've no other insights right now.

I received my notes today... I am going to India on 26th. He got called for an interview on the 29th of October...I will be there with him for the interview..I need help understanding some of these notes..I think i know the main reason for the interview....They are saying that they cant see 500 people in the wedding and saying that picutres are depicted in different areas...but in sikh wedding the ritual ceremony is held in the gurudware(temple) and then the reception part same day is in the resort.....
Assessments :
eligibility - In progress
Security - not started
Criminality - not started
Medical - Passed
counterfoil required - yes
PL states approx 500 people attended the wedding. However photos do not depict the same. Photos do not depict the festivities taking place at the time of the wedding. As per info on file sponsors parents sibling grandparents cam for the wedding. They cohabited for 3 months after the wedding. Outgoing photos appear good. Both appear comfortable in each other company.

So they didn't see what they expected. Educate them. Provide them with additional evidence there were 500 people. Is there a guest book, or even a guest list? Tell them why the ritual and reception look like they are in different spots - they ARE. Hmm. Other evidence: I assume someone paid the resort for the wedding - get a bill from the resort, since presumably it was paid for based upon the number of people. A brochure from the resort is also good, plus anything you might have from the gurudware - again, invoices or cheques or bills showing these things happened on the same day would be excellent, because they would rebut the concerns of the VO.

The notes are helpful - they tell you the source of the VO's questions and that means you can be prepared. Pictures are only one form of evidence - but they aren't the only form of evidence. Is it traditional to give gifts? If so, maybe you made a list of the gifts you received, as again, that would help you establish who was there (and how many people that represents.)

Good luck!

I think asking for interview is not consistent with their comments/notes

although with these negative comments an interview is not justified :( !!
