I am a USA citizen and my fiancé is Canadian. We are discussing getting married and where we should do our sponsorship.
We were talking about getting married in Canada. Is there some type of paperwork I need to show I just want to get married then I will come back to the USA?
I feel like if I go to Canada and tell them I'm marrying a Canadian they will send me back to America because they think I'll live there illegally.

I only want to get married there and then return to the USA and continue working while we work on our papers for either the USA or Canada

There isn't any kind of fiance(e) visa or paperwork. You can get married as a visitor. If you show proof of ties to the US, then you should not have any issues. If you are employed and can prove that, you should be fine.

If you there will be a lot of back and forth for either or both of you, I strongly recommend getting your Nexus cards. It will save you a lot of stress and they're only $50 for five years. When driving across you can use the Nexus lane, if there is one.
