Salamat sa pagshare ng storya mo. I've a strong feeling you're going to be really successful. Very seldom ako nakakita ng mga pinoy na nagkukwento ng mga malulungkot na karanasan nila, moreso yung mga kwento na nakakayurak ng pride, e.g. from being a professor at our country's top university to cleaning the toilets. Sa simula lang yan. I honestly believe your never-say-die attitude will push you to success. Am cheering for you and if you and your family ever visit toronto, meet tayo sagot ko ang double double sa tims, hehe.
I was also from the fsw 2014. I cause a ruckus among the fsw 2013 members (long story) but hindi talaga ako umabot sa cap. na cap reached ako. Good thing nagbukas nung 2014 and all the docs were ready kaya may 4 palang, na send na namin yung fsw application. By december of 2014, we already got our passports stamped. My wife and I took our sweet time preparing for our landing. October yung expiry ng medicals and we landed first week of sept with one month to spare. I never believed those who were saying na, "Kailangan umalis na gad kayo dahil baka ma deny pa kayo sa entry at dahil gawing reason ng immigration officer ay hindi kayo enthusiastic sa pagpasok". BALONEY. KALOKOHAN. A decision as Big as migrating, uprooting yourself from one country to permanently live in another one is a VERY VERY SERIOUS UNDERTAKING and ONE WHICH YOU SHOULD BE VERY THOROUGHLY PREPARED. I resigned from my work with only 3 weeks left till our flight. My wife resigned from hers 2 months before the flight. We were very paranoid about being prepared. Never a moment na nainip ako at naatat sa pagiintay ng flight date namin. That day itself, I was terrified, sad at leaving home, and very excited that we'll finally be in canada.
So we landed first week of september 2015 without any hiccups. Wala rin kami kilala sa toronto, no family, no friends.... stayed in sherbourne (considered as yung tondo ng toronto), downtown, in a cheap one bedroom room. Its a room not an apartment. no living room, small kitchen shared with 3 other rooms. no living room. Its a 15 sq.m room. A double bed for me and my wife, a single bed for my 7yr old boy. no bed frames. some bed bugs. our six luggages. very cramped. For three months we were there but we made it work..... Fast Forward to the present. I'm presently employed with one of the big five banks. My wife will be starting her dream career - she was software QA for a decade but really wanted to be a developer and she got her desired break and will be starting as an junior developer on monday. We've since moved from our 15 sqm room to a 1 bedroom apartment, weve rented for a year. Winter is almost over. almost
