I am trying to figure out ways around that shit. When I started out SWOP was almost guaranteed to spouse of students. Then they switched the policy in September this year.Holyshit, you are willing to separate from your family for that long over some Phd and you even have kids!
No need to get all salty "Mate". Making fun of other's situation is easy. I can do that too. But I wont. Peace!Little did we know his kids are also doing phd
FSW-O AOR August 2019 - The cursed VO OttawaWhat's your stream and AOR date?
Its more of a jargon from Immigration Laws. The use of "landed" is kinda misleading considerin that most of them were inland
Is studying Phd really necessary unless you were looking to extend your stay?I am trying to figure out ways around that shit. When I started out SWOP was almost guaranteed to spouse of students. Then they switched the policy in September this year.
So yeah, I was dragged into bait and switch by your favourite MM.
Haaaaah! So now I have to justify my choices? Okay here it goes.Is studying Phd really necessary unless you were looking to extend your stay?
What about PGWP for your wife? Isn't working better than more studying?Haaaaah! So now I have to justify my choices? Okay here it goes.
My wife is from a discipline that is heavy on research and industrial work. She had a job in India and then we left for Canada because I got transferred here. Naturally, she found it harder to get a job here since in Canada everything is essentially licensed. And if she does not do any job, how to justify 2-3 years of career break when we return home? So the idea was, get a masters in Canada (she was basically repeating her masters). If we return home, she will be newly minted masters with a foreign degree (can be useful to get a job). If we stay here, she can get a job more easily because she is a graduate of this country only. So she started her master, then her guide told her that she could switch to Phd as she already has a masters. I looked into SOWP option and it was practical in May. We agreed. Now comes September and MM basically makes anyone who EVER held a work permit or ANY rights to work from EVER holding a SOWP.
Thats how it put me in soup. Not my own doing but fucked up policies of Canadian Immigration and bait and switch tactics.
Huh? PGWP is given AFTER someone completes a degree! She never completed a degree and was offered Phd when she was in first few months of her masters! What about PGWP for your wife? Isn't working better than more studying?

Some Koreans believe that if there is poop in your dreams, you will have luck with whatever you try to do, such as winning the lottery.i was having a beer, watching tv yesterday night and i was kinda dizzy tho, i saw a quick dream that a dog is pooping on mendishitno's face. prob cus i remember seeing an ad where a dog is running.
My dream was more like this : We all were pulled in this room with Red Light / Green Light doll. Only that it has two-sided head. MM's on one side and Holten (or what ever he is called) on another. We all had to move on the ground from Pool to ITA to blah blah to Landed finally. The doll used to turn its MM head and it used to say we need 400,000 immigrants and we used to rush toward the doll and then it suddenly turns Holten head and it used to say "Canada OWES YOU MUFFINS!" and those moving used to get frozen and enclosed in ICE.i was having a beer, watching tv yesterday night and i was kinda dizzy tho, i saw a quick dream that a dog is pooping on mendishitno's face. prob cus i remember seeing an ad where a dog is running.
