Indians in August 15, 1947: Can we stop being a British Colony? or we'll fight you to the death!
British in August 15, 1947: Yea, sure. Here is your country, enjoy.
Indians in 2021: I was wondering.. Can I live in Britain or at least in one of its colonies? Australia, New Zealand, Canada.. anywhere I can enjoy the good sides of the British civilization, monarchy, law, army, education ?
British in 2021: ...

History explains most of today's sociological behaviours and politics. Don't get me wrong, similar sh/t is happening in my country too.
Can't really compare the colonization of Australia, Canada and New Zealand to the colonization of India though.

The Brits basically resettled a huge portion of their population, and took over aboriginal/native American land. They set out to settle in those countries or send prisoners there by killing off/ethically cleansing the native population. They are still primarily "British" today if you go back enough generations. That's why they still have the British queen as the ceremonial head.

The Indian subcontinent on the other hand, held 25% of the world's GDP at one point. The colonization of india was primarily intended to siphon that away and control the subcontinent. They can't possibly do to the indians what they did to the aboriginals and native americans and settle there. So when they left, there was not much money left and a country which had historically been divided into hundreds of kingdoms had to come together as one democratic nation. That shit takes time. The US needed 200+ years after colonization to become a superpower.

Having said all this, I am not leaving india for the money or the passport tbh. Salary is going to be equal to living costs and getting a visa isn't hard with whatever passport if you actually meet the requirements. I am getting out for social reasons.

I have noticed this about Indians I have met in person and seen on online forums, their desperation to get rid of their nationality and change their passport. Is India that unliveable for regular folks?
Life of an average Indian is like this ,fom 3 years of age things will start
Constant pressure to perform in academics ,it is not a problem but life should not only be about academics, most children dont have time to play or enjoy.

People -In general people are very uncivilized (I am not telling all but majority) .they cant handle criticism, most are bigots

Work life balance-your manager considers you as a slave.

Arranged marriage- This is a sensitive issue,I have seen my friends getting married trust me ,I cant differentiate between arranged marriage and prostitution.

Infrastructure- It is horrible.

Intense cut throat competition and office politics.

People ,people,people everywhere .

Indians in general it is a war for survival (because too muchp7ll on resources),you only have 2 options kill or to be killed

Education system sucks-No company gives 2 fucks about indian independence against British. (I personally have nothing against brits, because 70+ years of independence and still if you cant change that is not on brits it is on you.)

That's the case for most 3rd world countries, you basically grow up hearing that you must leave the country at some point to have a decent life. The older you get the more you understand why everyone says that. Hope everyone get their COPR soon...

Couldn't have said it better, of lately I feel as though my country is spiralling downwards faster than ever.

Doesn't matter how sure I am or anyone else is. When EE was NOC-based (I think it was before 2017-2018) the NOC selection applied to all streams and the draws were always all program draws (you can verify on IRCC's website). This is the only reference we have.

If an NOC-based selection will come back, it probably wouldn't happen before April-May when IRCC expects to deploy NOC 2021. Many people will have received their ITAs by then so we're only wasting our time here...
There was never an NOC-based selection system.
Before the current EE, FSW was based on a FCFS queue. There was no requirement whatsoever, once you reached 67 adaptability, you will get an ITA.

Plus I don't understand where the idea of NOC-based selection comes from. I have explained in my previous posts that this doesn't make sense at all... Why would they want a PNP-based CEC on the federal level ?? What are they gonna do about international students then? Who are JT's favorite for the moment...

NOC-based selection only makes sense if they can restrict where you can move to, and where you're gonna live. An example is Australia 190. (A similar program like current PNP in Canada)

I think back then was when having a job offer gave you 200 points rather than current 50 points, so it was really hard to get in cause scores were hell of high.

These first time ministers that are in low media departments become promoters for the liberal agenda to gain points in the party. During cabinet swearing, they hardly talked about Mendicino's work in immigration. They spent more time talking about how he helped out in capaigning within toronto metro area.

Right now LMIA job offer is only 30 if I remember correctly?
Previously a lot of agents were selling LMIA for a fortune.
But anyway, NOC based selection on a federal level has never existed, and be unlikely to be implemented.

My bad; NOC-based meant NOC quotas. I think they were like 3000 per occupation or something. Confused the concepts a bit sorry. Then again, I think the new system will be much like this. I get the feeling that IRCC wants to invite NOCs equally or maybe not so equally but with a more uniform distribution to match the needs. PNP already invites based on what NOC is needed so yeah.

Yeah, I'm aware of low wages in Canada. But again, there are ways to offset that, which I'm already laying the groundwork for. My only regret is not going into IT sooner.
Just curious as I'm also thinking about changing career to IT but don't really know where to start. What did you do before IT and how did you transition into it? And what do you do in IT now?

I have spent more time converting between dd/mm/yyyy and mm/dd/yyyy than filing up the OINP application. Why can't we decide on a standard?
