Yeah, on IRCC Twitter, they explained a bit what they expect from PR numbers. Non Quebec French will go up from 6% to 8% total on 2026 so you can expect higher French draws in the following years. Regular draws will be for 500+ only at this rate.

They basically maintained the levels estimated in last year’s plan for 2024-2025, without increasing it, then maintained at 2025 level for 2026. If they don’t reduce students, it will be crazy. 2 mi students a year with 500k available PR a year total.

They get the best of both worlds. Get the cheap labor and when they apply for PR, receive fees and reject them for fake documents they didn’t check for initially lol.

They still do some off and on stem draws. It’s probably available because STEM is a large field with a lot of NOCs, so even though overall STEM are already a large % of regular draws/PNP, there might be some needed NOCs that they are missing.

It’s not good salary though. You can’t live in Canada on minimum wage. They have to live in slum housing and tents, to work for minimum wage and horrible quality of life. They don’t work like that for the wage, but in hopes to get PR.

Meh, it’s already hard for someone in status to make a living. Being out of status where you only get shit jobs, have no chance for a PR anymore and can’t use the benefits. They will probably give up sooner or later. Sucks for the pets though.

The category based draws are basically doing that now. Those who don’t have on demand experience need over 500 points. It will take time though and the government needs to let PGWP expire, or else people won’t stop coming. Things only change when it starts to hurt.

All draws now will be fore next year’s quota. Could be they are evaluating next year’s cap. Every year they release their 3 year plan, could be they reduce the plan and leave the amount it is this year, instead of raising it.
