But previously the bgc was showing we are processing your documents.... then it changed to NA.
It was the same with my application. I actually logged in to see my medical passed and allocation of UCI number before my email on update of my application came. At that initial stage my BGC was 'NOT APPLICABLE. Then the morning after it changed to this: YOUR APPLICATION IS IN PROGRESS WE WILL SEND YOU A MESSAGE ONCE WE START BACKGROUND CHECK. I just want to be pass the R10 so bad (the eligibility and completeness check) that is the most crucial part of the whole application if you haven't misrepresented in any way in my own opinion. I log into my profile so often, i am certain my laptop is sick of me.

About an hour ago I got an email from CIC saying "Your application has been updated. Please sign in to your account and check your application status and messages for more information."

I logged into my account and there are no changes or messages. What could it be?

Thanks

In continuation with the discussion about consultants, I can't stop myself to share with you my own "Wonderful" experience.
I'd posted it in some other thread too.

Firstly, NEVER trust this type of consultant!

Secondly, there is NOTHING like need of a lawyer in the whole process, too.

Thirdly, no one but the IRCC reserves the exclusive right to issue a candidate PR visa. Any lawyer from any country is definitely NOT able to get you a visa if you do not fulfil the requirements set forth by IRCC.

I'd like to share with you my own experience with such a fraud immigration consultant.

In fact, I have been researching about express entry since it was first launched in 2015. However, when I finally was able to fulfil the requirements and decided to create my EE profile, I went to an immigration consultant. The only reason to go to him was to "TEST" that consultant how he tries to fraud with me! ;)

So, finally after seeing my case that I am a medical doctor, she made a DEAL with me. She asked me to submit my profile on behalf of me in 18 lakh INR (Indian Rupees) ONLY !!!!! :p (I repeat, 18 lakh INR ONLY)

Immediately, I got her that she was trying to fool me, thinking that being a doctor, I'd be super rich and would not hesitate to pay this much fees to her! :p;)

But, as I was really enjoying her PROFESSIONAL way to fraud other people, I continued the conversation...

I asked her whether or not they would pay for IELTS and WES ECA of me and my wife.
I was literally shocked to hear from her that we did NOT need to give IELTS or ECA results while applying !!!!!!! ;D 8)
I asked how would it be possible?

The answer was even more INTERESTING.

She told me that they had SUPER level lawyers in Canada who could make our file APPROVED and get us PR visa!!

The breakdown of total 18 lakh INR fees was something like this,
4 - 5 lakh INR for creating my EE profile (which hardly took only 1 hour for me when I did it online on my own ;))

4 - 5 lakh INR for the fees to pay to those SUPER LEVEL lawyers ;)

4 - 5 lakh INR the fees of the consultant agency (Now who the heck was that agency, I don't know even today)

The remaining 3 - 4 lakh INR were RESERVED if any UNFORESEEN circumstances happened during the whole process! :p

Thank God, I had enough knowledge about the whole process, otherwise, seeing this much fees, I'd have cancelled to apply for PR to Canada.
I still wonder that there actually might be some people who are really paying this exorbitant fees to the consultants, otherwise how would she ask me for that extravagant money.

This is actually NOT a wonderland story, but my own experience.

My personal advice to all of you. Even if you decide to hire a consultant in any case, please research everything about the whole process beforehand. I have seen some cases whose file is completely operated by consultant only, and they even don't allow the applicant to see his own file what's going on in that. They don't even know where his file has reached and what procedures are being on the file.

In fact, an applicant feels paralysed when the consultants don't share with the applicant the log in details of his own file. He also can't even know when he received any email notification from IRCC. This all happens after you pay your 1 - 2 lakh INR or so and can't even know what's happening with your own file, and life too!o_O
I died at 18 lakh INR:eek:, omg this both shocking and hilarious:confused:.

Trust me, i think you have better clarity than I do. I am totally confused. Was happy when I saw the initial NOT APPLICABLE cos i thought I had passed the IP1 stage. Right now I don't know what stage I am at. AOR was 20th May. Meds passed on 28th of June. Hate the not knowing phase of this whole PR process.

Regarding consultants, I would also like to share my story and how internet saved my money.

In the beginning of researching for EE, when we all are babies in this CIC system. I went to two consultants,
Both were like yea you are great case, blah blah blah, we have an IRCC lawyer etc etc. CRS is coming down to 390 (in 2015).
First you will pay so and so amount. then so and so after ITA, lastly on PR. They were pushing me towards Ontario as i had 400 above points.
I had a wave of stupidity, greed and lies from them.

So I came back home researched the CIC site A-Z, calculated my CRS, booked my IELTS and WES. Searched reviews of their agencies and got picture of consumer cases against them on exploiting clients. And I am talking about India's two top leading immigration service firms here.
Then I still was a bit in dilemma of so called technicalities, so i visited both again (I hadn't paid anyone yet), I asked them to set up my meeting with their IRCC lawyer to know in detail of things legally. Next thing that came was shocking!! They said the lawyer is in Canada, he sends us signed representative forms, that we put with applications, we know of all legalities, we have an immigration lawyer too, who will advise you.

Though taken aback I still went to meet their so called immigration lawyers, he was an empty box as his juniors, i just had the most basic knowledge then about process, but he lacked in that also, all he said to my legal queries was, don't worry you just start your file, you are through. I ran away as fast as I could, i came home tried to fill an EE just for trying with pseudo details and voila! it was just a bloody simple form to fill. Even a 5th grader could do that. I further researched, found this forum and was convinced that I can do that and I did.:)

Till day I thank God for saving me, I was about to pay those idiots almost 5500 CAD for just filling those forms!!!
Untill and unless one is in a real legal jeopardy and need help, no need to even go to an immigration lawyer, and if one has to, research and go to a good one recognized by IRCC. As for consultants they are bunch of thugs.
We are just worried that we might make a mistake, so we waste our money on them, but as @KiranK rightly said they are good for nothing and have no positive impact on our file whatsoever, the money that gets wasted is a further loss.

can you share your timeline? my timeline is given on my signature. i am just so so so confused now! coz today i see some new changes,, as like my review of eligibility and review of additional docs are showing "we are reviewing whether you meet eligibility requirements" and " The additional docs provided are being reviewd" respectively. I am sure yesterday when i checked the statuses were different.

The way most consultants work is this way. The person wants to immigrate so they go see a consultant. Consultant ALWAYS says, you have a good chance. Dont worry. Even if the guy can barely speak English.

The consultant gives the person a checklist of things to do. WES, ECA etc. And just to give that check list, they will talk big about the process, blah blah blah and take the first installment which is a pretty decent amount. Usually 1/3 of the total fees.

By then the poor gullible applicant has fallen into the trap. He announces to the whole world that he is going to Canada and he has already got a consultant doing everything for him. Friends and family are excited and the applicant himself feels he is half way there. Afterall the consultant told him that he qualifies based on his education and work experience.

Then he gets his IELTS done. Many people do not get a CLB 9. By the time ECA is done and IELTS is over, the consultant charges the next fee to get a profile. Then the person is in the pool with a score of around 380 since the person wont have a CLB 9 in the first shot. The poor guy in many cases wont even know that he needs CLB 9 since consultant usually say that all you need is a 6 to qualify. I had a friend who once told me excitedly that her consultant told her that she passed her IELTS! She got above 6!

Then the person goes into the pool and stays there forever. Consultant says you are in pool but scores are still high. Wait...it will come down. They wait and wait and wait and so many people just lose interest. Consultant is happy with the 2/3 money and they are off to the next victim!

If the person does get a CLB 9 or 10 and they eventually get an ITA, the consultant makes it sound like they worked on it using their lawyers etc etc. Finally just before the PPR mail, consultant collects all final payments, gives the PPR and gets the passport stamped and the candidate keeps raving about this AMAZING consultant and recommends their friends and family to this consultant. Because of XYZ, today I got Canadian Residency!

In reality, all the consultant did was upload forms and gave them a checklist which is available for free on CIC!
Very well explained, john!

Yea hopefully it does, Thanks for the assurance dear.

Also, on top of this many applicants got meds passed yesterday with AOR 23rd May, and now I called my good for nothing representative for updates, he is on leave:mad:! I have no access to my account without them sadly their policy . Now I am sitting and wondering what is happening with my file:oops:
I might beat up my representative:mad: I see red:eek:. first they did not check my documents properly, the only thing i paid them for now this.
Never ever hire any immigration lawyer thinking they are smarter then you, they know nothing not even as much i know.

Thanks for bearing with my rant. Could't keep it in.
I get your frustration dear, Just hope you get to know about your status soon.
Regarding your CSE query, I haven't received any update on that as well, will tell you as soon as I get one.
I think you will be fine though and will pass meds as of today or in day or two. Hope your consultant informs you in time though.

I agree with everything except the lawyer bit. Complicated situations like a person being eligible but CIC sitting on it and not acting on it due to delays in security screening etc can be sorted with a lawyer. For example, a lawyer can file a writ mandamus to the courts to get CIC to move ac case forward if its delayed. There are many cases of forum members engaging competent lawyers to take CIC to court if we have a clear case. Yes, you don't need a lawyer for simple straightforward cases but if something is really stuck and you are in a dead end, lawyers can give you legal recourse which you will not know on your own. I know a case on this forum of CIC sitting on a ladies citizenship application for 7 years with no apparent reason except saying they are doing security screening. She finally hired a lawyer and she got it all sorted in a few months. Sometimes CIC needs to be taken to court if they sit on things for too long!
Yes, that's true for a few applicants who are in some trouble like that.

Sorry to hear that your Immigration Consultant is a A-Class A** @KiranK. If its fine with you, could you share which consultancy you had opted-for. This is so that the future aspirants do not make the same mistake and get assigned to incompetent consultants. Much appreciated. All the best for PR.
Thanks ya.
