Its something called a ghost mail. It does happen sometime. It means they are working on it. You might pass medicals soon.About an hour ago I got an email from CIC saying "Your application has been updated. Please sign in to your account and check your application status and messages for more information."
I logged into my account and there are no changes or messages. What could it be?
Thanks
I'm so worried though, because I'm almost certain I'll get a medical rejection or medical fairness letter. Its something called a ghost mail. It does happen sometime. It means they are working on it. You might pass medicals soon.
LOLYes, that's the one. I could only reach upto the bit where they READ the damn status to you which I can anyway read myself on my profile! After that they say - High Call volume and we can't connect you to an operator. Please try later. And then I'm bumped off.
Here is a tip. I have made a note of the sequence. So the first call took 6 minutes to reach the Bump off bit. So then I used the rest of the calls to practice the sequence and I managed to reach the last bit by 3 minutes in my last call as I kept pressing the 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 as fast as the sytem will allow.
Unfortunately at the last bit when you want to PRESS ZERO and go to the operator, the stupid voice will not let me press ZERO till she freaking finishes reading the entire status profile!
I am going to try and aim for 2.30 seconds to reach the finish line today!
I paid a consultant before creating my ee profile and reading about the process but later on decided to go on my own but unfortunately he didnt refund my fees,i hope that i took the right decisionIn continuation with the discussion about consultants, I can't stop myself to share with you my own "Wonderful" experience.
I'd posted it in some other thread too.
Firstly, NEVER trust this type of consultant!
Secondly, there is NOTHING like need of a lawyer in the whole process, too.
Thirdly, no one but the IRCC reserves the exclusive right to issue a candidate PR visa. Any lawyer from any country is definitely NOT able to get you a visa if you do not fulfil the requirements set forth by IRCC.
I'd like to share with you my own experience with such a fraud immigration consultant.
In fact, I have been researching about express entry since it was first launched in 2015. However, when I finally was able to fulfil the requirements and decided to create my EE profile, I went to an immigration consultant. The only reason to go to him was to "TEST" that consultant how he tries to fraud with me!
So, finally after seeing my case that I am a medical doctor, she made a DEAL with me. She asked me to submit my profile on behalf of me in 18 lakh INR (Indian Rupees) ONLY !!!!! (I repeat, 18 lakh INR ONLY)
Immediately, I got her that she was trying to fool me, thinking that being a doctor, I'd be super rich and would not hesitate to pay this much fees to her!
But, as I was really enjoying her PROFESSIONAL way to fraud other people, I continued the conversation...
I asked her whether or not they would pay for IELTS and WES ECA of me and my wife.
I was literally shocked to hear from her that we did NOT need to give IELTS or ECA results while applying !!!!!!! ;D 8)
I asked how would it be possible?
The answer was even more INTERESTING.
She told me that they had SUPER level lawyers in Canada who could make our file APPROVED and get us PR visa!!
The breakdown of total 18 lakh INR fees was something like this,
4 - 5 lakh INR for creating my EE profile (which hardly took only 1 hour for me when I did it online on my own )
4 - 5 lakh INR for the fees to pay to those SUPER LEVEL lawyers
4 - 5 lakh INR the fees of the consultant agency (Now who the heck was that agency, I don't know even today)
The remaining 3 - 4 lakh INR were RESERVED if any UNFORESEEN circumstances happened during the whole process!
Thank God, I had enough knowledge about the whole process, otherwise, seeing this much fees, I'd have cancelled to apply for PR to Canada.
I still wonder that there actually might be some people who are really paying this exorbitant fees to the consultants, otherwise how would she ask me for that extravagant money.
This is actually NOT a wonderland story, but my own experience.
My personal advice to all of you. Even if you decide to hire a consultant in any case, please research everything about the whole process beforehand. I have seen some cases whose file is completely operated by consultant only, and they even don't allow the applicant to see his own file what's going on in that. They don't even know where his file has reached and what procedures are being on the file.
In fact, an applicant feels paralysed when the consultants don't share with the applicant the log in details of his own file. He also can't even know when he received any email notification from IRCC. This all happens after you pay your 1 - 2 lakh INR or so and can't even know what's happening with your own file, and life too!
Thanks a lot my NOC mateCongratulations @gurik for your speedy medicals. That's too quick a progress.
All the best for that speedy ppr too.
I bet you took the correct decision.I paid a consultant before creating my ee profile and reading about the process but later on decided to go on my own but unfortunately he didnt refund my fees,i hope that i took the right decision
I agree with everything except the lawyer bit. Complicated situations like a person being eligible but CIC sitting on it and not acting on it due to delays in security screening etc can be sorted with a lawyer. For example, a lawyer can file a writ mandamus to the courts to get CIC to move ac case forward if its delayed. There are many cases of forum members engaging competent lawyers to take CIC to court if we have a clear case. Yes, you don't need a lawyer for simple straightforward cases but if something is really stuck and you are in a dead end, lawyers can give you legal recourse which you will not know on your own. I know a case on this forum of CIC sitting on a ladies citizenship application for 7 years with no apparent reason except saying they are doing security screening. She finally hired a lawyer and she got it all sorted in a few months. Sometimes CIC needs to be taken to court if they sit on things for too long!In continuation with the discussion about consultants, I can't stop myself to share with you my own "Wonderful" experience.

But previously the bgc was showing we are processing your documents.... then it changed to NA.You might move to IP1 soon. Sometimes it's instant and sometimes it takes a few days.
What was the exact bg status? Was it something like..."your appln is in progress. We will msg you when we start your background check."?But previously the bgc was showing we are processing your documents.... then it changed to NA.
I think that as we all have now concluded that Background check never stops, even after R10 is passed and file shows NA, also as pointed out by legalfalcon, its at the NA stage that most of our background ic checked and that includes eligibility and criminality first and later followed by secirity at IP2 stage. So i think the good thing that we know from your call is that they are definitely working on your file. Also i'd like to mention it here that legalfalcon had pointed it out in one of his posts that after R10, mostly criminality is checked first before eligibility. So maybe as you mentioned earlier that you had an extensive travel history, maybe its taking long there for your application. Lastly we have the lazy VO to blame also. Jokes apart, It is all speculation though. Wish you luck and quick PPR.Guys, just got off a call with CIC. The lady on the phone was kind and helpful but so far not very encouraging when it comes to timelines:-
1 - My case is still in early stages and in CIO Sydney.
2 - They have not added my CSE yet to my case. They are getting a very high volume of CSE so it will take time to get added. She said, dont worry, rest assured it will be added soon at some point. No timeline given.
3 - I asked her if I passed eligibility and she said that they are still doing my background check.
4 - I asked her what is Background check? Is it security? Criminality? She said its difficult to say coz it just shows that the background check is still going on. They have everything they need and they have not asked for any additional documents.
Any idea what exactly are they doing in background check? I think I have a very slow and lazy VO!
