Do you happen to have the updated last number for 2172?

anyway, many thanks to all the contributors. And I have a question for the experts...

Should we apply for new express entry scheme even our 2014-December applications are still pending?
Will that be a violation of any rules? (Having signed up for one scheme and applying again for another)

By the way considering they are still going through end of Nov files, it might take another month for them to complete all Dec apps. By that time January draw will be over.

Also on the side note, do you think there is any chance under new scheme for those who do not have a job offer?
(I guess they give more than 50% of the new points if u have a job offer making very slim chances for those who are without an offer, to come to the top at the draw)

What do you think guys?

Wow thats the great news. In one day we saw CC charged for 24,25 & 26 November.
We can expect December candidate's CC to be charged from Day after tomorrow As most of the courier companies wont work on Saturday & Sunday (29 & 30 Nov)

No wonder if 1st December candidates are charged tomorrow

I do not have much knowledge about Express Entry. But I came to know that, Once if you are thru with EE, then the current FSW application will be withdrawn and the money will NOT be returned back to you.

Once again, this may not be right information. Just double check it.

And lets say you get lucky and from the first draw, you get an Invitation To Apply for PR and at this point you may need to pay the application fees; where on the other hand your credit card or DD can be charged anytime for the FSW 2014 program application. So the worst case possible, you will be charged 2 times. Thats all.

We have to remember not everyone has a job offer to apply And all the applicants in the pool are not from Canada who is having a job offer in their hands. And you dont know how many the CIC are targeting to select in one draw. So don't worry thinking you dont have a chance. Just create a profile and hope for the best

I don't think its against the rules, but I would advise you to wait for about a month now and see what happens to your current application.
From what I read, the modalities of allowing potential employers to access the pool haven't been completely worked out yet, so either the first draw will be delayed, or the benchmark for points will be ridiculously low. But yes, going forward, applicants with an offer of employment will have a huge advantage over those without. Exactly 50% of the points is awarded for the job offer, and since it would be practically impossible to score the entire 600 for age, qualifications, experience etc, the job offer will be the deciding factor.
But even if you apply for express entry now, you may be in the March/ April draw, and the baseline for points will probably be much higher.

Summing up: My suggestion would be to wait for a bit and watch. It won't be much longer now.
