I see a lot of people from London VO,Accra VO ,Warsaw VO and Singapore Visa office have got SLU today like us ... you can check their forums in this website .. and some people are mentioning it could be just a system update, like updating address activity happened earlier .... don't know ... any thoughts?

OK so this is depressing :'(

This means that the SLU is totally MEANINGLESS and indicates NOTHING and was going to happen anyway regardless of processing stage.

So we're back to square one? Is there any way we can verify this? I am sure I read on the forums before that this SLU is a step forward and does mean progress.... Now I'm just confused!!

I have second line as well "We started processing your application on June 24, 2014.", InshaAllah we all will have the MR very soon.

WoOoOoW! you guys have been talking Well, I agree this is very confusing... if we all got updated today that means that someone in Cairo have done something, given that to my understanding this update happened today (It was night in Canada).

But then, information emerged that other people in other visa offices also got similar update ! Is it a system wide update... I read from your former writing that not all visa offices received similar update.... mmmm! tayyeb 2aih ba2ah? A good question would be what of the people in the visa offices that received such an update, are they delayed as much as we are? Or close...

Another even more curious question, is it just a coincidence that some of us got the update on August 26, 2015 having the same exact date (a year prior) in the update?

Could it be that all visa offices received some decree that processing should just start for all files left from previous year? Could that be the case?

I think we are left with more questions and less answers (Reminds me of the TV series Lost, the more you know the more confused you get)

Anyways, whatever that is it feels good (even if it is just deceiving) at least we have shared this moment all of us earlier this morning We are all here lots of faces that we have not seen for a while (including myself )

A lot of unanswered questions -for now-, in few weeks we will know inshaa Allah by observing what will happen, not only for us (Embaba VO) but also for other offices who received the SLU today like us.

The first time costs 40 $ but second time or repeated order costs 30 $

This is not a system update. System update is usually something general that will change for all.

I have went through the forums VOs teshelny and VOs te7otteny It seems in general that SLU is not done out of the blue (i.e. software update). Because it doesn't just happen to all users in all VO's in the same time. Usually, people get something (MR, Update Request, RPRF) after the SLU, but he eternal question would remain يس بط هوين. Well, a friend of mine in Ottawa VO, got MR a day or so after the SLU. since we are with Cairo VO, things are likely to be different. After farther search, I reviewed a case similar to us on almatareed forum, someone who had there file bending from 2013 to 2014 for almost a year like us. She seems to have received here SLU about a year later with the old date (نفس العلقة لا قلم قل و لا قلم زاد) and then she received the MR about couple of months later... This is rather a deduction from her posts there...

New Delhi VO had similar incidents and people received there MR within 4 months after there 2nd line of update... But that is New Delhi VO... The most crowded VO on the planet, I think

Another peace of information, I was intending to share with you, but I got caught up with the updates hype... We called Canadian Embassy in Cairo few days ago and while the operator was not specifically helpful in anyways, she clarified two important points: 1. The embassy is open and operational. 2. The VO is operational. Note, I wouldn't really buy into the second point, after all she is a front desk operator and may not exactly know...

i have received the second line also but with another date, it says 3 July 2014 not 26 August. although my PER was 12 August.
As i can't understand anything so i am going to wait and pray as usual

Don't worry my bro, in other forums there are similar cases like yours. We all don't have definite assurance of what happened on 26 Aug, but we hope and pray to Allah.
