Congratulation

Thanks! +1 for you

guys need one advice on how to bring or transfer funds to Canada.

we are 2 adults and one kid. having funds of about CAD$25K.

now I know that me and my wife can carry CAD$20K (as per rule of 10K per adult passport while leaving Pakistan)....what about the rest of CAD$5K? can I carry it on behalf of my kid or on his passport? he is 3 years old.

also my wife posses gold worth CAD$15K....will that create any issue?

is it safe to carry that much amount in cash?

I have searched online, no Canadian bank offers to open an account from Pakistan...as couple of them are offering in India. so what are other options I can carry funds if I don't want to carry it in cash?

like if I make DD....than in whose name? if in my name then how I m gona cash it later on?

is it possible to bank transfer it although I cant open an account prior to entering Canada?

please guys give some practical advise...I mean those who are already there or will be leaving soon what they have done about it?

thanks a lot in advance.

Congratulation!

Waiting for my turn....

Total of both counted towards the CAP.

I am also confused. I think that total of both is not counted towards the CAP, but only those who have received PER are counted towards the CAP. The one which mentions that counted towards the CAP are those applicants who have received PER. Whereas the "Pending Applications" are still pending to be reviewed and therefore they are not counted towards the CAP. From these pending if all are issued PER then they will be added to the CAP. Means we can say as under:-
Total Applications with CIC = 11544+4565 =16108+Not Opened Application Parcels(x)

We can not know that what is the value of Not Opened Application Parcels(x) ????

Maybe CIC will make this secret also available on their applications received update page, so that as soon as courier person will deliver the "Application Parcel" to the door step of CIO, the person sitting at CIO will pick up his scanner device(like courier persons have) and will scan the bar code of the AWB and immediately the total number of applications entered in the CIO building will display at the webpage.

Other members please also debate whether this is the correct understanding of CIC latest update on 16th December.

Regards,
George

you can carry whatever money you want, the only point is you have to declare it to custom, immediately after arrival in the airport.

I would not say that. The cap was updated a couple of days ago, yet applicants were being charged the last two days so 2nd column could be applicants who have not yet been charged.

are there other opinions about this>>>> it will make huge difference

You can bring more than $10k each, you just have to declare it. For $10k and under you don't have to. But as long as you can tell them why you have it, it won't be a problem.

They'll give you a form on the airplane when you are arriving in Canada - one of the boxes that you can check says "I am bringing more than $10,000 into Canada".. Then just make sure to the border guard why and you'll be fine. Given that you are doing a landing, it won't be a problem at all.

Hi All,

Please can anyone tell what does it mean by MI acceptance review? Also pending applications under MI acceptance review are calculated up to which date? My application was received on 1st Dec, 2014 for NOC 1123. With the new update, I just wanted to review the possibility if there is any chance for my application to be considered before 1000-cap.

Kindly reply ASAP. Thanks
