Brother I think you misunderstood or may be I did. Not sure but below I have explained what I think.

Hi Century / i435,
You mean renew it now, even before getting charged or receiving the PER?
I am wondering the best moment to do it: Now or after receiving the PER (being optimistic and believing everything will go fine) when I can handle the matter directly with my local VO. I am from Brazil.

I am concerned with what i435 mentioned about any potential requirement at the first step with CIC though. if they require 6 months validity date, the will return my application (and I will lost my shot).
on the other hand, if I renew the passport now, my previous passport will become invalid and when CIC does the first check, they will find an invalid passport and might return the application too... ?

That's scaring me...

That is not an issue at all. The old passport becomes VOID not invalid in the sense that you can still use the old passport if you already have valid visas in it but cannot add any more visas in it or travel with it alone. There is absolutely no negative consequence on your application for renewing your expiring passport. On the other hand, there might be delay if you didn't renew it.

Update the passport ASAP. You can always submit the updated passport information after you get PER. But, you won't receive PR visa OR be able to travel to any foreign country in a passport that is valid for less than 6 months. So, you will need to update it ASAP.

Isn't it better to renew the PP after receiving the PER then? In Brazil it will take about a month to do that, and I can have it scheduled in advance so I will make on the approx. date that I need (based on the forecast that my application might be charged at mid of november).

All those who doubted when I told them that FSWP 2014 will end on December 2014.
So, who can take off these -4 I got when I brought this news two weeks before?

Renew your PP, I already had my answer in the previous post. Renewing your PP will not impact your application, you have plenty of time later to update your Local VO of your new PP after PER.

how can i know which is my local VO, as per SS some lebanese have put Local VO as paris, some as ankara , and some as myself have put Lebanon

It could also mean that FSWP will be administered within EE and the old-school program intake will be terminated as soon as Jan 1, 2015.

Express Entry will allow us to actively recruit, assess and select skilled immigrants under the following federal economic immigration programs:

the Federal Skilled Worker Program,
the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
the Canadian Experience Class.

He didn't really answer the question. He said FSWP will be UNDER express entry starting in Jan1. Or did he mean the two will run simultaneously?

I think its quiet clear when he says FSWP will be under express entry post december 31st. build ur account. I think process shud be;

1) Create a profile with job bank
2) Your profile will be given ranking based on ur education, work experience etc.
3) Your profile will be accessible by employers across canada.
4) Expression of interest by employer.
5) Once employer shows interest in a profile CIC looks into it and approves/disapproves depending on factors
6) If CIC approves, they invite candidate for applying PR under CEC, FSWP etc categories.

This should take 6 months as they mention on website...Rest of the process should be done in another 6 months. So when he says under express entry he means post december FSWP is closing
