I dont think you need to worry about your PP renewal now. As per the trend after receival of application it takes 100-120 days to charge and later additional 1-2 weeks for eligibility. After this if you get through (called PER) your file will be transferred to respective VO at this stage you could change PP.

Hi Seniors,

I would like to confirm your point of view and also check if someone had a similar situation as mine.
My application was filed at CIO on August, 6th , however my passaport validity date expired in March 2015. Do you think this is a problem and that I should renew my passport before being charged the fee / receive the PER? Do you believe this expiration time being in 03/2015 could be a problem that would prevent me from being charged and receiving the PER?

What are your thoughts on that?

That's complicated.

I would say one thing 'Don't make new passport unless you receive anything from CIC' as this might go against you. Wait till January 2015 for your PER and then apply for your new passport and immediately inform CIC and VO.

First of all, thanks for your efforts towards forum and all the very best for your app.

I agree updating sheet and sharing updates are the backbone for the success of this thread. I guess, you missed my point because I never said not to congratulate, or say thanks. I just said that this can be done through PMs so as to reduce number of pages. didn't get your point of PMing ashif or century.

After this post, I opt to only PM replies to this subject that we're discussing right now. I just shared my point of view of how we can keep congratulating, thanking people, still keep number of pages to minimum so that info is really available otherwise people will keep asking same questions which have been answered so many times. They ask them, because we're making it impossible for them to find those answers on this thread (leave apart some people who will anyways always ask without reading anything)

Dude!! I guess you are missing a point here. This forum is to give a sense of what's happening in CIC by collecting and updating data on a spreadsheet. Without people coming and updating their statuses we would not know exactly what happening. When you come and ask, when will my app be charged, how do you think members are able to give you a clue?

And what is the motivation for them to come and update? Congratulating is the basic thing we should give back. That feels so good and lifts spirits up..... What if they PM Ashif bhai or century bhai??

Good luck brother. Also once your addendum being received, send e-mail at cio-sydney-search-enquiry @ cic.gc.ca to know the status. Give your full name, DoB, UCI (if you have), and passport number too.

Thanks Century. I will be tracking my courier more than anything else the next couple of days.. Like you said, I intend to send the scanned copies of the forms over email and give them my tracking number and time of delivery, as soon as the courier is recieved at CIC.
Also, intend to fax the same documents to CIC half a day after the courier has been delivered.

I think CIC is a bit lazy in their approach to work and updating caps, but I would not one bit doubt their consistency. They are very efficient too. I would not go by one or two entries in SS which are contradictory.... We need few more charges to actually come to conclusion..

i have the same issue, please seniors we need a precise answer , we have 2 opinions here

my passport expires at march 2015 and my app was received on july 29 so what do you suggest ?

should i renew now or wait ?

I am here!! Fantastic News!! Now we could say, the last cap update of 2174 was based on completeness check. So, we can guess that still there are about 100-150 guys who can get charged and receive PERs. Congratulations Guys!!

1. This rule might apply to the last 100-150 apps they updated in a haste last week
2. We need few more charges to strengthen this rule.
