Keep applications sorted by their status as it is right now, but inside each status, sort by a different column:
For "At CIO" applications, sort by App.received date in descending order.
For "Payment charged" applications, sort by Fee Encashed Date, in descending order.
For "PER Received" applications, sort by PER Received Date, etc.

That is a very excellent idea! Implementing these ways of sorting would make things incredibly easier and more convenient.

Hi everyone,
we have a new idea proposed by PinguimGuy regarding a possible improvement to the default spreadsheet sorting order, and we'd like to discuss it :)
In my opinion, this idea looks really good and is worthy to be the new default sorting order:
Keep applications sorted by their status as it is right now, but inside each status, sort by a different column:
For "At CIO" applications, sort by App.received date in descending order.
For "Payment charged" applications, sort by Fee Encashed Date, in descending order.
For "PER Received" applications, sort by PER Received Date, etc.

I've implemented a Filter View, which demonstrates the proposed sorting order exactly as described:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11gAbKSoDoOr1s8_raB1qwz0i-ZH0NyNWhhn18O6kHwQ/edit#gid=1627896255&fvid=1141630743
This link sorts properly only when current number of viewers is less than 50, so here's also a screenshot, just in case (clickable):

This way we can see all the news for a particular status right away, and this is exactly the question so many people often ask here. For example, all newly charged applications are at the top of the "Payment charged" section, and by looking at their received date you can easily see that CIC is currently processing payments for May 12 applications, and that some May 8-9 applications are still being processed as well.
You can also easily see that we have our first May 7 applicants with PER, - they are at the top of PER received section.
Similarly, all newly transferred applications are at the top of "File Transferred" section. Etc.

The old default sorting order among applications of the same status is by NOC. I remember, it was because we wanted to be able to count how many applications there are per each NOC. However, now there are so many applications in many different statuses that the usefulness of sorting by NOC looks unclear anymore. It seems easier to just check the "Apps by NOC" sheet rather than counting this manually.

If we approve the new sorting order, the old one will be accessible via Filter Views, in case anyone still needs it.

In my opinion, this sorting order is really much more useful than the old one, but I'd like to hear opinions of our forum members on this.
If you support it, or in case you have any objections or other better ideas, please tell.
If there are no objections, I can make this the default sorting order :)

Good idea. I approve.

I agree that the current sorting by NOC is not helpful when trying to see how many applications are ahead of yours that still need to be processed. Having a filter option by received date, CC charged, and PER issued dates would make it much clearer to see your standing in the table.

There is nothing to panic at the moment. You should wait for a couple of weeks more at least.

Just out of curiosity - do you think there could be any red flags in your application that you know of ?

If you can't figure any - have patience.

Good luck !

I respect the peers who are genuine, know how to talk, phrase the words in a humanly civilized manner, selfless, respectful. Kudo to them for being on this forum and helping others and contributing to people's success but this guy Mr Oscar7 needs to learn some basic lessons of communication to be on the ground. he needs to help himself before he helps others with his low choice of words..
No offense to anybody who likes him. Good for them.. The reason why I dont read his comments is coz I dont like to read nonsense. Peace!!

[size=9pt] Hi, Sorry to hear that can2132. That is indeed disheartening! We can understand how painful that long wait can be. Request you to share:

1. The content and format of your reference letter(s).

2. Any area in the overall package that you have doubt on?

Will need to decipher what could have happened, as anything is possible...share facts about the contents please :)

Sorry to bother you here with my question as it seems I have started very lately. I am considering to apply under 2133 (Elec and Etron Engr) in the 1st week of August. In the meantime I have been researching the messages in the forum and have come up with concerns from the messages

Hello

Guys.. i want an expert opinion... I have sent my application on 28th May for NOC 2133.

when can I expect to hear from CIC, is it going to be during last week of June?

The latest CAP shows 5 only in this category... when do you think the cap reach?

Based on the recent calculation taking hot NOC into account, our spreadsheet records only 7% of the total world applications.

for civil, mechanical, electrical engineers, 2131,2132,2133 respectively they are birds with same feathers flocking together..

say for electrical 5/0.07 = 71.. as of now got PER, approximately at the most possible way filled.

So range for our kinda birds will be from 70 to 130 as of now having PER..

Applications send in the 2nd and 3rd week of May for our birds will easily make it to the nest .. I don't see a problem for applications sent until mid of June for our NOCs

So does it seem to have very little hope for me if I apply in the mid of August. What are your opinions?
I can consider "2241 Electronics technologist and technician" also as it matches my duties by 50-60%. However WES has recognized mine having MSc. Therefore, can I apply as a technician/technologists as it's entry requirement is only in diploma level?

Guys please help.

Seems to be a cold day.. not many per mail's reported.. moreover everyone here seems to be discussing personal attacks....

Guys if we keep pin pointing and attacking eachother then how will this forum run..

Stop making comments on Oscar.. he has helped many.. check out the number of +1s he has..

PM me your mail id.. will send u the format

Glad to see the showering of the PER mails.. Congrats for all those who got it and Best wishes for those who expect to get it.. :)

Well I am still in preparation of my package and waiting for ECA from WES (So, fingers crossed and need your wises/prayers). I dont know if I would meet the CAP for 2171, because that the NOC I qualify and have been working as a Information Consultant for about 8 years.

My question or rather clarification is on POF (Proof of Funds)

I checked in the forum and for 3 Members its $18,097 CAD, which is around 10.5 lacs in Indian Rupees. I have asked my dad to transfer it to my account and some I had in Policies which I took on and will be moving to my Savings Account which is in SBH (State Bank of Hyderabad).

Do I need to hold this sum of 10.5 lacs in my account till I land in Canada or till I get PER for Visa interview .. till when ?

Should the POF letter show the amount equivalent in Canadian dollar as well..Any one has any format, that would be of a great help.

**THIS FORUM IS SIMPLY OUTSTANDING**

Regards,
Shahid

Guys please help.

- First match the NOC which your duties and experience closely matches and is the least competitive among the available options.
- Secondly; for CIC evaluation Educational qualifications need not match.
- Thirdly - take a look at the Spreadsheet for the current projected total number of applications received and counted towards your CAP. It will give you a fair idea as to when it could probably be too late to apply (if at all).

Spreadsheet is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11gAbKSoDoOr1s8_raB1qwz0i-ZH0NyNWhhn18O6kHwQ/edit#gid=153273759
