@ Oscar7

Have u registered ur sons birth at an Indian Consulate, within one year of his birth? If you have done so, he is considered an Indian Citizen and does not require a visa to be "legal" in the country.

As far as my understanding is concerned, entry / exit stamp requirement is if visa office is not responsible for your country. If u r choosing CPC-O, i don't think u need to show ur sons "lawful" entry in India.

Nonetheless, the FIR and copy of application to obtain duplicate passport for ur son shud suffice as his lawful entry in India (even if applying for NDVO), as technically US embassy wouldn't have issued duplicate passport, if entry was "illegal". You can confirm this from a lawyer or embassy.

You may be right, but to be safe I would make sure to erase any possible question of whether the entry was legal, regardless of the visa office chosen.

Hi Guys,

I submitted my application NOC 2131, received on May 16th at CIC. I did not provide PCC with the application at that time, now I received PCCs from all required agencies and ready to submit. My question is: Should I wait till I get PER or can I send PCCs to CIC at the same address? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.

WAIT. It's nothing but a headache to try to send additional documents to CIC after the main application package. Your local VO will ask for them and you can provide them at that time.

Does your DD not have a 6 month expiry date?

+1 if we consider how many apps just from this forum and then all the apps globally to send additional info and expect CIC to match it to the applications is a fools errand. As future canadian suggests hold out till the VO requests it

Hello Guys,

I need an authentic answer regarding my question which is
I am applying for my immigration in Canada in couple of days. But I am also planning to apply for my PhD once i submit my application for Immigration , Is it possible ? Or I cannot apply for studies until i get my immigration.?

Go ahead and apply. If you get PR, you will be studying as a PR. If you don't, you may be able to move temporarily as a student and then find a way into PR depending on the system CIC has in place at the time you finish your degree.

FIR - First Investigative Report

Its the report u lodge with police dept in case of loss of any document or being effected by any criminal activity. Police start their investigative procedure based on this report. In most of the countries, it is accepted as "legal proof" of lost documents.

I see, thanks for the info.

Thanks!!!!

As CIC ask for 6 month vaildilty then if it goes past that date it is CIC's issues and not yours as you followed there rules and there ineffiencey caused the delay. Don't worry about it

Thanks for the info and yes my DD is Valid for 6 months and lets hope that it will be at least within 6 months

@ vijayag

If ur DD has 6 months valiity (as prescribed by CIC) and it was issued few days before submission of application. U need not to worry, CIC will take care of it. If by any chance ur application gets rejected because of 6 months DD expiry, you can sue them and claim direct citizenship (as they themselves asked for 6 months DD).

Our firm Oscar Shah LLP has started offering this service as well, being a forum member u will get special discount.

On serious note, in such case, CIC will ask u to provide another valid DD but they can not reject ur app for this reason (in case ur DD is 6 months, which most international DDs are). I haven't heard of any case being rejected for this reason, not even in FSW 13 the processing was delayed because of 2 month long strike.

Secondly, the slow speed is for initial days, when CIC was flooded with apps after this process will become pretty fast.

Dear Seniors,

Please find my queries below :

My file is ready for submission to CIC on 14th-july, 2014 from INDIA.
I have all the docs ready with IELTS sheet for me and my wife. WES report is also attached with 4-yrs of bachelors degree.
Applying for NOC 2281 with 6yrs of work-ex.

Currently working out of India from last 6 years but got the submission done from India.

Please clarify the below :

1. when can i expect to receive my file number ?

2. when will i receive my medical call ?

3. when will my references be called for verification ?

4. Apart from calling my references, will there be any other verification from CIC ?

5. My current passport is left with only 2 blank pages and i want to renew it, can i apply for a new passport ?

6. Do i have to submit a copy of my new passport to the embassy ?

7. When will i receive a call for my passports ?

8. usually how long does the process takes after receiving the file number ?

9. I did not attach the police clearance certificate, will that be requested later on ?

10. will i be called to India for any signature request or passport submission or i can do it from the country of my work ?

11. any idea if i am not too late to apply for NOC 2281 ?

THANKS A LOT FOR ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS !!
