Hello Members

Does anyone know if "Certification of Birth" issued by the Consulate General Of India in an overseas country is accepted as Birth Certificate by the CIC ?

Hi,
I'm applying for 2174 Category...have applied for WES and cam to know that i will receive the WES report in 2nd week of July.
Please help me with the below points for applying to CIC.

1.For 2174 category, whats the possibility if i'm submitting my application in the 3rd week of July?
2.Do we need to send a set of transcripts to CIC again?
3.Do we need to have the funds as savings or FD for atleast 3-4 months in the account or can we withdraw after we take the statement ?
4.Is there any official link whrer the cap details are updated?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I think i was not clear enough with my queries

1. Does this correlation also hold if the UCI has been generated previously. What i mean is, HAVE YOU GUYS CHECKED THIS CORRELATION TO EXIST FOR CASES WHERE UCI HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY ASSIGNED. To check correlation to exist, you need to re-analyse the data after excluding the new applicants.

2. Can i check my UCI (being a first time applicant), even if i have not received PER email? What i mean from first time applicant is, someone WHO HAS NOT BEEN ASSIGNED UCI i.e. first time applicant for any type of Canadian visa/immigration.

If your answer to any of the Q is NO (especially the 2nd Q), i am afraid to say that the correlation is useless, at least for estimating CC/DD charging.

1) yes it does hold. we saw few cases where 2 or more applicants whose app received on same date were charged in the increasing order of their uci(irrespective of time received of application). We dont conclude that it holds true for all unless we collect more data to verify

2) No if you are first time applicant you cannot find out when is your cc going to be charged.

Rule of thumb... as long as it is from a government authority that too a central authority it is pretty much as good as municipal authority to be valid as birth certificate. the CIC would like to know who is authorizing you a birth certificate tom dick and harry or a proper govt official.. :-X

I have read on the Internet that Certification of Birth and BC are not the same. So I am not sure if this has been accepted in the past.

well i mean that there must be some way CIC processes applications. There should be some sequence or number (at this time iam not sure). But one thing is sure, applications recieved on same date are not processed in FCFS.
just check the instructions

http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2014/2014-04-26/html/notice-avis-eng.php

if they would consider fcfs, look at the time 10:19 am, which application will have priority to be picked up first ? Why did cic instructed in checklist to put the barcode page on top of application ? why 7th may applicants are not charged in order of time recieved ?? these are open questions and answer lies with cic, i am just trying if our hypothesis is right .

Noone here believes or is arguing that the time stamp mean anything. All I am saying is, the FCFS is based on the DATE the application is received. Within the same day, it's random. The UCI number is likely given BEFORE charging CC/DD since even returned applications have them. So UCI number must be assigned at the BEGINNING of the initial review process, which is why CC/DD charges correlate with the UCI number.

So, knowing the UCI number is useless given that it is generated as a part of the process and thus, does not have any predictive power. Think of it this way, they take out application packets randomly from a shelf designated for 7th May (for example). But the packet that they do pick out randomly are now given UCI number, which is not random and are in a sequence.

To be useful and predictive, we would have to have a priori information that we can track. And right now, the only priori information that we can track and that has predictive value is the date of receipt.

it is not accepted. search for valid BC in this forum, u will get the info.

and to all.. Pls do not give information if you are not sure, and not spoil other's application and dreams.

Hi Guys,

Just waana give my opinion about applications processing speed. It is obvious that the CIC is overloaded with last year's returned applications. So I urge everyone to have endless patience and expect your PER to reach after 70 to 90 days after the received date.

I have a BC but there is a spelling mismatch for my first name with my Passport and all other documents. I am thinking of preparing a sworn affidavit and submit that along-with the copy of my BC. Will that suffice ?

Alternates to BC.

1. SSC certificate (with parents name & dob), school outgoing certificate (with parents name & dob).
2. Notarized affidavit.

The thing is both my BC and Class 10 mark sheets have my first name mis-spelled. Class 12 marksheet does not mention DOB.

So the quickest way I have is an affidavit with a copy of my current BC. :(
