1. You cannot "intend" to "reside" in Quebec using FSW. If you do, you have to use the Quebec provincial immigration process.
2. Wherever you do land, you cannot declare your intention to "reside" in Quebec either, if you do, [I am not sure exactly what happens]. But you cant.
3. After you "land" in anywhere in Canada declaring your intention to reside in any part of Canada other than Quebec, you can move to and live anywhere in Canada, including Quebec, as the Canadian Charter of Freedom provides freedom of movement. Residents of Canada are protected by the CoF.

However, remember, the law works on "intention." If there is ever a question on your immigration status, and they are able to prove that you always had the intention of residing in Quebec, but you stated otherwise during your immigration process, then they can prosecute you for material misrepresentation of fact, which can lead to cancellation of your PR. How you overcome this is a question of law and fact and you should rely on an attorney. It can be overcome though.

Excellent points good sir. Everyone should remember that if the government finds out later that you lied on your application they can remove you and your family from Canada even if you've already landed. I think it would be harder/impossible once you have citizenship.

Hiii friends,

In my birth certificate my father's name is written as XYZ and in Passport it is written as XYZbhai...

Is it cause problem if I do affidavit that both the name is of the same person i.e. father name.....

Exactly. Why lie to the government that is providing such a wonderful opportunity to you and your family?

Any idea where we can have the update regarding caps filled by now.Month May is almost over. An update could help us a lot.....

When CIC gets around to updating their site, that is the only way to know for sure.

is it mandatory that birth certificate should have both father and mother name in it? In my case there is a name of father and grand father.

Seems to be common in your part of the world. Just explain it in an annexure.

My wife's WES report is ready and dispatched from WES. She has done her MA. The report says her education is equivalenr of a 4 year Bachelor's degree. How many points should we expect for this.

By MA do you mean some type of master's degree? But WES evaluated it as a bachelor's? Do you agree with this assessment? Does she have a bachelor's that she did before the MA?

A bachelor's is worth 21 points. A master's is worth 23. If you need those 2 extra points you may consider appealing WES' assessment.

Assessed both BA & MA.

Ok then it is in fact 22, but you could get the extra point if you think it should be assessed as a master's. If you don't need the extra point don't bother.

Dear fellows,
I have two queries:

1
Kindly tell me what is the attestation procedure for a degree which someone has got from abroad (UK).
For example in my case my BSc engg is from UET, Pakistan but later I did Masters from UK.
Masters program was of 1 year full time (2011-2012).

2
I have done O/A-levels so what is the procedure for its attestation. Like do I need to attest IBCC equivalence or from British Council or what!!

Your detailed reply would be highly appreciated.
Regards,

You don't need to attest them, you need to have your degrees evaluated to determine their Canadian equivalents and provide an original of the ECA report with your application. See here for instructions: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp
