Both processes are completely allowed. PCC can be obtained from Mumbai Police or from Passport office (Passport seva kendra or PSK) in India. (other than Punjab)

I am from Mumbai and took my PCC from Passport office (PSK). This didnt take more than 2 hrs. All they require is your original passport and address proof. Nothing else. Fairly simple process.

You need to first fix an appointment on the passport website

Do as directed as you can fix the appointment by paying Rs 500 charges online.

Two corrections as I just got my PCC done while I was at my hometown:

1. No need for appointment. 9-11 AM is walkin for PCC and they let you in without any prior appointment. Although, you need to first complete the application online and generate the ARN and take a printout of that.
2. Police Verification is not done only if you are still staying at your passport address and passport was issued within the last 1 year. If more than that, PSK may ask for police verification and that takes 3-4 days.

If it is with the DD's - then I was told that CIC will send a mail stating that the DD has not been encashed and to send a new DD.

But we dint even got that info from CIC.

I am very much worried.

Did u checked with bank??...talk to forex guy in bank...my application reached on 12 june...DD from axis

Dear guys,

In my educational certificate there are some minor issues in the ways my name is stated.
My name is MOHAMED ISHAK VALIYAPARAMBIL as per the passport, But in both of my SSLC as well as graduation certificate the surname is abbreviated as VP. Besides in my post graduation certificate they have mentioned my name as MOHAMMED ISHAK. There is no surname plus one M extra in MOHAMED

1. I understood earlier from this forum that I can I submit a notarized affidavit stating about all the above. Should this affidavit be sworn by me (self declaration) or my parent?

Either is OK.

Bro from where did u come to know that CIC will inform u about ur DD??

My Consultant told me - He has seen those cases where CIC came back asking for a fresh DD to send.

Guys,

My appointment letter (ex-employer) states that commencement of employment shall start from 11th July, 2012
However, in my experience letter (ex-employer), it states that I was employed from 07th July, 2012 upto xxx.

IS this a PROBLEM?
OR IS IT OK.

Experience letter is more important.

Appointment letter mentions some joining dates, but candidates generally join a few days ahead or earlier to this date. Should not be an issue. Go by the experience letter date.

Hello Mike, why will the file be returned. we have sent a DD with proper validity- it is the CIC who dint encashed it in the period it is intended to...

if a CC get rejected then the issue is with the applicant. When DD is an issue - it is the CIC who is owner for that mistake or lazy in getting that encashed.

Axis bank DD with 6 months validity as per communicated by bank

CC should be valid for 6 months so if it's not encashed then there must be an issue with the DD or your file
