If the name appears on any document that might be required by CIC; I advise to put alias. If the variation is quite strong as was in this case 'Jain' & 'Sethia' (if I remember correctly) an affidavit which states that I am Mr. A s/o Mr. 123; I am known as Mr. A and Mr. B.. etc. this text will be available with the people who work at courts, so tell them what you want.

I am providing such documents for my spouse's late father; to rule out any confusions. That doesn't mean we start providing affidavit's for every thing just those things/documents which are or might be (in future) asked by CIC.

The form asks whether you have used any other names. That is certainly another name. However to avoid this appearing to be an alias (which can have negative connotations) I suggest explaining in an annexure the exact situation and that it is not an alias.

Does anyone know if there are any pending MRs (New Delhi visa office) from the FSW 2013 program? Without they being sorted first, I don't think FSW 2014 cases will be even looked at.

Dear Admins - What is the tentative timelines for MR as per our sheet? Sorry I am on phone, so cant check this myself.

guys I received my Per on 12 August.Can you please guide me with my case.I got married on 7 June after submitting my file to CIC on 7 may. my wife is living in USA she is a green card holder.while I am living in Pakistan.my wife will not accompany me in Canada as she is studying in USA. do i need to update my information in CIC if my wife is not accompanying me.I am planning to bring her to Canada after she finishes her studies I will sponsor her after settling myself there. please guide

After your local visa office contacts you, you MUST inform them of your marriage and provide all necessary documentation as if she had been with you on your original application. This is the same whether she is accompanying you or not.

How long do you anticipate your wife's studies will take? You may want to consider listing her as accompanying. From the date of medicals, she will have one year to do her landing, but being in the USA it's not hard at all to do your landing. Immediately after landing she can return to the USA to continue her studies. To maintain PR, she must live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 years, so as long as she can join you within a couple of years of her landing she will be fine. This is easier than trying to sponsor her later.

Hello everyone,

I was pleasantly surprised to find this incredibly informative and supportive forum and was hoping you could give me your opinions on my chances of making it under the cap.

If everything goes to plan, I would like to send my application sometime in late October (I have to wait for the results of my IELTS which I am taking on the 2nd of October). Although I am not worried about my NOC (0015) filling up, the overall cap concerns me. What do you think my chances are of making it under the cap and when do you think my credit card/demand draft will be charged?
